Good stuff

This is a fantastic fish oil supplement. The high concentration of DHA (500mg) and EPA (250mg) per softgel means I don't have to take multiple pills a day

Fish oil is literally food for the brain as well as the arteries of your body....plus it radically decreases inflammation, which doctors are now finding out is the root cause of most (if not all) known diseases out there. This is huge, folks. BUT of course there is a 'but', as with all things in this world. BUT if you get the cheapest fish oil you can find that hasn't undergone good testing for contamination, you are literally ingesting toxins when you take your fish oil. Our world, oceans, lakes, are all really polluted. It's pretty bad guys, and it's not getting any better. And guess where toxins are stored when a fish ingests them?....in their fat. So you get your fish oils from good sources that have tested for things like mercury, PCBs and such.I did a test on this one from NOW foods. It was a pretty cheap "toothpick" test that is recommended by Dr Barry Sears, who pretty much revolutionized the way we look at fish oil. Look him up once and read about the amazing cures. Anyway, the toothpick test came out good, so I feel fairly confident that NOW's DHA-500 is, like it says on the bottle, tested for contaminants. It's a good oil from a good source. I give it to my autistic kid (and all the rest of us take it too), and I recommend it for anybody over the more expensive varieties out there. It has produced pretty obvious results for my kids.

Update:I started keeping my bottle in the freezer, and have had no more problems with the pills sticking together, and also no more problems with fishy burps. Updated my rating to 4 stars.Original review:I purchased these softgels because they have a good ratio of DHA to EPA, and because they were comparatively affordable. However, just a short time after I received the bottle, all the pills started clumping together. I thought maybe they got too warm in my drawer, so started keeping them in the fridge, but this didn't make a difference, and the problem continued to get worse.At this point, I've had the bottle for two months, and all of the pills are in one huge clump stuck in the bottle. I have to painstakingly reach into the bottle and try to pry off each pill individually. Often, they break open when I'm trying to get them out, so there is fish oil all over the bottom of the bottle, and I can no longer turn the bottle upside-down over my hand, or else all the fish oil pours out over everything. My husband complains that I always smell like fish oil now, because it doesn't really come off your hands.I'm very displeased with this, and will look for another brand next time I restock. The lower price doesn't hold up when you lose so many of the pills to breaking open in the bottle. I've used the 5,000 IU Vitamin D-3 softgels from NOW Foods for years, and never had this problem before.On the plus side, I don't have any unpleasant side effects from taking these DHA-500 softgels, other than the occasional fishy burp soon after taking one. If it wasn't for them sticking together so badly and breaking open in the bottle, I'd buy them again. Too bad...

These DHA vitamins are great for pregnant or nursing women! I took them while pregnant and just ordered another bottle now that I am nursing. These have no taste, are easy to swallow, and I've never noticed a fishy aftertaste. As stated on the bottle, "The natural fish oil concentrate used in this softgel is manufactured under strict quality control standards. It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e. Mercury, heavy metals, PCB's, dioxins, and other contaminants)."I had been taking Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA (Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA - Unflavored - 180 Softgels) early in my pregnancy but switched to these when I ran out. I will continue to purchase the NOW brand DHA from now on for a few reasons:- These are enteric-coated and odor-controlled so they are easier to swallow and do not have any odor to them (which was super helpful during early pregnancy when I was very sensitive to strong flavors and scents).- These pills do not get "sticky" in the bottle like the Nordic Naturals do- You only have to take one pill to get 500mg of DHA. You need 2 pills of the Nordic Naturals to get just 450mg of DHA.- The price point for the NOW brand is significantly lower than Nordic Naturals, especially if you factor in the serving size (as noted above, you'll need to take 2 of the Nordic Natural pills to get to about the same amount of DHA as just one NOW brand pill)Very happy with these and will stick to this brand for the duration of my time nursing (and for any future pregnancies!)

This DHA supplement is a great option, especially if you’re looking to support brain and eye health. I like that it has a higher DHA content than most standard fish oils. The softgels are easy to swallow, and I haven’t experienced any fishy aftertaste, which is a big plus. NOW Foods is a brand I trust for purity and consistency. Great choice for daily omega-3 support.

I’ve found these supplements to be easy to digest. No problems.
