Fantastic broad band antenna: Covers Amateur 2m/70cm, Marine VHF, MURS, GMRS
I bought this antenna primarily to use on my boat where I wanted to shared an antenna feed with both a GMRS radio, and a Marine VHF radio using a frequency-split diplexer. In that application it works great. Signal strength is very good, SWR at those frequencies is very good (<1.3:1) and installation was exactly how I expected. But then I discovered that this is also just a great all around antenna for 2m, 70cm, MURS, GMRS, Marine VHF, and in scanning (receive only) applications from 25MHz to 1.3GHz. I have one hooked up to my RTL-SDR, for example, so I can scan any service within its bandwidth range. The fold-down is rather stiff. I don't use this in offroad conditions currently, so I don't need a spring. But a spring kit is available if you need it to be better protected offroad. It's a rather long antenna due to its compatibility with 2m VHF. But it's a good all around antenna, very effective at the ranges I've tested. Recently I used it to hit a GMRS repeater 64 miles away with a 4w handheld.

Great Antenna
Awesome antenna. Using a mag mount for inside use. Hits a lot of the repeaters in my area.

Great wideband mobile antenna
This is a really good mobile antenna suitable for HAM as well as GMRS/FRS communications. It has a pretty widebanded operation and has held up well over the years. I own 5 of these antennas and they are my favorite, go to mobile antenna. I have only every used this antenna with a mag mount and it works just fine. Good purchase!

Comet Dual Band Antenna
Works good, swr around less than 1.0 . Tall enough to go over the cab for a good signal . Spendy when you add the spring whip but I think you need it.

Made a big improvement on RX/TX
It works great, made a huge difference in RX and TX. I have both Amature radio and GMRS radios, improved both. I also have it fitted to a Btech Nagoya GPK-01 (21" Radials) NMO Mount Ground Plane Kit. I am easily hitting repeaters 200 miles away with it mounted on a 30 ft pole, I am 6000 ft ASL.

Well-constructed and works well, but...
...it came without a parts list specs--Comet's website doesn't function well so it's not downloadable from there. I would've upped my rating if the spec sheet came with the antenna.

Great Tri-Band Antenna
I purchased this antenna for my mobile rig. Iโm have less than 1.5 SWR across VHF, UHF, and GMRS. In my local area, I regularly hit repeaters 25-30 miles away off of my Yaesu FTM-510DR. The 2x4SR stands up to highway+ speeds extremely well. This antenna works so well, I even purchased one for my father. Overall, I am extremely happy I purchased this antenna. If anything were to happen to mine, I would buy a replacement without question.
