Fresh, Forgiving, Surprising
If you think you know what prayer is, if you have no idea how to pray, if prayer seems distant or irrelevant to you -- I so deeply recommend this book.Elsewhere, Ó Tuama talks about his "beloved and bewildering Jesus," and this is exactly who we find in these fresh, accessible, beautiful, sometimes surprising pages. The introductions alone are wonderful and wonder-provoking. They're funny, too, in a gentle way, like a lot of ÓTuama's writing and speaking.Included are prayers and short liturgies for times of the day, a monthly round of short gospel readings and accompanying prayers, prayers for the stations of the cross, and a collection of "prayers for times of division."

A Prayer Book for Uncertain Times
The text of Daily Prayer With the Corrymeela Community was written by Padraig O Tuama, poet and leader of Corrymeela, but it is also a product of the community itself. Corrymeela has been calling people in Northern Ireland and beyond to work for justice and reconciliation for more than fifty years. This prayer book is set apart by its stated purpose of moving pray-ers from a starting place of fear to courage. Using thirty-one very brief gospel readings and O Tuama's stirring, lyrical collects, it succeeds magnificently. Of particular note is the Prayer for Courage, which is meant to be included in each day's prayers.

every day
The prayers in this book make the most sense to me, perhaps out of any prayer book I have ever read. Thank you Padraig for putting these prayers down on paper and making them widely available. Life-enhancing.

Wonderful Prayerful Practice
I finally got the book after Padraig posted Stations of the Cross online. I was so moved by it I finally plucked this off my Amazon book list. He has a wonderful way of drawing the reader into the story of Jesus using few words. Highly recommend for daily prayer. I'm not Catholic (Non-denominational) but found this helpful.

Meager and Paltry
When a book is entitled "Daily Prayer," I expect a series of prayers for morning and the same for evening, and perhaps a set for midday. This is one prayer per day for 31 days. What I would do in my spiritual practice with such a meager offering is beyond me. I have returned it.

The author makes the reader understand prayer in a different way. He takes us into his childhood as well as his experience now working in Notthern Ireland as a gay Catholic man in communion with Protestants and others to bind up the wounds of the “troubles”. An inspiring book with deep spirituality.
