Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G VR II DX AF-S ED Zoom-Nikkor Lens (Renewed)

This doesn't look used nor even renewed It looks brand new. its A crew Nikon so it does have Nikon Quality. This was an actual gift that I was buying for my nephew since he is getting classical photography. Autofocus works superbly It works quietly and smoothly. I bought it from Amazon's partner BH 52 Innovations. Shipping was quick and on time I highly recommend that company Would be great if they actually sold used cars I'd be getting one from them Because they would look and work more new than used. again I highly recommend them

This lens is very nice. I am a novice but since the my son is in sports I need to close the distance from the bleachers to get a nice shot. This has worked as described. I am able to zoom in close and get the shots I need without much fuss. The F'stops are the same as the Kit lens so I figured I would not lose anything. The price was amazing as refurbished. The performance in doors is obviously not going to be as good as the SUNNY outdoors but it is still better than the kit. I really like how this lens compliments the kit lens. I also have a 35mm 1.8 prime lens for better shots and this is a great compliment. You can not go wrong. The quality is just like the kit lens and performance is just like the kit lens just better zoom.

Definitely a fun lens, and with rare exceptions, one of only two lenses that end up on my camera. Sure, there are better lenses out there. Could it be faster? Could it be brighter? Would I like more reach? You betcha. But one must bear in mind that this IS a kit lens. It's not a pro lens, it's not a telephoto, it's not designed to get an extreme close up and stop action brightly and clearly in the end zone on the other end of the field at your son's football game (not that it won't still get you some great shots mind you.) But for the price it's indeed a hella fine lens with some decent reach. The 70-300 obviously goes a bit further. But I couldn't personally justify the additional expense to go from roughly 3x magnification to about 5x in a lense that'll in all likelihood be replaced eventually. It does make the faintest grinding while autofocusing. But, it IS refurbished. I have no expectation of absolute perfection. Other than that, no issues or criticisms at all. Lens arrived in short order and well-packaged. Definitely satisfied with the purpose.

Works the best. Just as described.

So far I’m loving the lens. Zooms in at sporting events for the grands just like I want it to.

Good image quality

I have many expensive Nikon lenses, but I wanted one to put on an old D300 body to throw behind the seat of my truck. Wasn't going to put on one of my good lenses for that purpose so I bought this renewed 55-200 4-5.6 lens. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer by any means, but good enough for most things I intend to use the camera for. Functions as it should and looks new. Took a few photos with it and with a tad of tweaking of sharpness in editing it was more than acceptable. Can't report on the image stabilization as I have not played with that feature and probably never will. I have been a professional photographer for more than 50 years and find image stabilization to be just a gimmick feature for people who don't really understand photography. But that is my 2 cents. Reasonable lens for the price.

I originally wanted to get a 70-300mm to do some astro-photography. But the price was ridiculous, so this was the next best thing. And I'm not sorry I bought it. This lens is great for traveling because it's a longer zoom than the standard 18-55mm but isn't too big that the camera becomes really bulky. I used this one a lot on a multi-city trip I took last August to Cuba and New Orleans. The pictures turned out awesome. As you can see by the test shot I took of the Miami Police Boat from the balcony of my cabin aboard a cruise ship, the lens offers a clear photograph from far away.
