I recently got Rocksmith for a really great discount on Steam, and figured I could just use any cord to play it. Got this one and was very disappointed to find that Rocksmith is made to only recognize its own cable, which you can only buy now-a-days for $30-40 which completely defeats the purpose of the discount. (obviously not this product's fault) I did a little searching and found a youtube video that explains very simply (less than 5 minutes) how to get the patch you need, and use it to play. Simple as that. I've never tried to post a video link in an Amazon review before, so I'm not sure if they will allow it. Just know I went to youtube and searched "rocksmith no cable patch" and the fist video that popped up was by "c dub" titled "100% WORKS NO REALTONE CABLE 2020". Follow that guide and you'll be golden.

Work w rocksmith with mods installed

Seems to pick up the guitar sound fairly well, not as crisp as an amp or other set-ups but great for 15$. However, there is a constant high pitch buzz that comes from the recording device. I've tried several DAW set-ups and with 2 different guitars to no avail. Sadly ruins what otherwise would be a great, cheap method of recording guitar directly.

Update: I finally got it to work, but I don't have any idea why it didn't work for the first few weeks and what I did to make it suddenly start working. It's now been working reliably for about a month. Original review: Terrible. Will not work with my Mac. Control panel recognizes the device, but does get any input. Doesn't register on Garage Band or Band Lab either. The instruction manual is tiny and only pertains to Windows, not to Mac. No online assistance. I've been patiently trying to get it to work. I finally gave up today and found that my Amazon return window ended yesterday. GRRRRR. What a waster of $18.35. Mac users, buy a different brand.

I personally like this cable, but calling it the best is a strong word. The only issue I have with this product is that there is a major delay from picking the string and the the recording software playing it back to me. Its good for people who want to try using recording software for the first time, but there is better cables for sure.

Bought this cable to use with my Steam version of RS (Rocksmith 2014) and my bass guitar. The cable works great for this usage! Configuration is key for using it there, because the device shows up as a "microphone", so you need to set up RS properly to use that input... and if you have other inputs on the computer, then you may need to force RS to use the device "microphone" as opposed to some other one... but once you get that figured out, this cable works great. And it's so much cheaper than the official RS cable, which is also relatively difficult to find and apparently has durability issues. I can't say this one is going to be that much more durable (I haven't used it as much as others, I'm sure)... but for the price, it's a great deal! I do with there was a volume adjustment on this somehow, but I think RS reduces the volume during your calibration process, so it may just take more tinkering in there to get the other volumes turned "down" so that this one can be relatively higher in the mix. I haven't played with it enough to figure this out. (RS should adjust the volumes to like 50% on theirs sliders, so you can go higher with certain things easily... the alternative is to turn everything else down, which gets you the same behavior, but takes more steps.) In the end, none of this is a fault of the cable, so it gets 5 stars!

Worked well for what it was designed for. I wanted an alternative to the OEM cable for playing Rocksmith on my computer, however, and this cable was not designed to fill that role. The game would detect the guitar input and pick up the notes I was playing, but not audio from the guitar was passed through the game so it was silent.

Great product

Si funciona con Rocksmith 2014 Remastered pero solo en PC, no en consolas, otro detalle, si tienes una versión "no original" tampoco te va a funcionar (debido a que las "no originales" no incluyen una actualización que permite el uso de este cable), por lo que tendrás que comprar el juego. No hay un delay notorio, la calidad es excelente y el ruido de fondo es mínimo (4 meses usándolo)

Sirve muy bien en mi Mac Air.

O cabo é muito bom, funciona muito bem, e dá pra usar no Rocksmith (não como cabo Rocksmith, mas como um microfone USB, funciona direitinho).
