A Good reference Guide.
This book is written in a very clear and concise way. The book doesn't over elaborate on certain topics and often draws comparisons to the Cisco 6509-e switches. The book contains actual configuration and real life examples. The authors did a good job with this book. The book does briefly explain some of the protocols and technology as a refresher to jog your memory.I really like the straight forward and right-to-the-point writing style of this book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the NX-OS.

Excellent Read and Much better than the First Edition
BJ MOORE - Network ArchitectI have been waiting for this book to come out for a few months and am pleased with the content, readability and layout of the book. Nice examples throughout the book for most topics. The 1000V chapter is quite big and very very good BUT with what cisco is doing in that space including vWAAS, VXLAN, and VASA (on HyperV and VMware) this really needs to be its own book. Cisco recently released the 6000 series Nexus and this almost paralleled the book release...so it is not in the book.

A great reference book for the NX-OS platform
A lot of very detailed information in this reference book. I was able to successfully configure the Nexus 5548 devices for the project I was working on with vPC, FEX, BGP, and other features using this book and a handful of resources on Cisco's web site. Overall, I found the level of detail sufficient to answer most of the questions that came up during the planning and implementation phases of the project, and was also able to get a good grasp of other features that were not necessarily required for the current project, but that could be applied to other large data center projects I may be assigned to using Nexus devices for solutions down the road. I think this guide will be a good resource for those as well. There are a ton of features available in the new Nexus platform of products that are being offered for the Data Center from Cisco. These NX-OS is a little bit of a different beast than the IOS-based devices many of us with Cisco experience are used to, though. This book does a great job of bridging the gap of configuration commands for those of us that are accustomed to working with IOS, as well as introducing many of the new features available on the NX-OS platform that are not available on the IOS device platforms. Although this book did not answer every question that came up during the planning process, it definitely pointed me in the right direction and answered the majority of them. I definitely recommend it.

Nexus OS and Switching
Great book. Very informative with real examples. A must read if you live in the Cisco Nexus world as I do. It is so useful that I purchased both book and Kindle version in case I wanted to search a topic on the fly.

Lot of this information is available online and more up to date
It has a good introduction to the current data center architectures but would have liked to see more details on packet flows and end to end orchestration in data centers with an emphasis on cloud/virtualization.

GREAT material to support for CCNA and some CCNP level ...
This book was recommneded by INE DC videos for CCNA. After watching the videos, reading this book has covered the questions I could not ask (it is a VoD). GREAT material to support for CCNA and some CCNP level for DC.
