What's the behavior when the power goes off, and then on?

In 2020, HBN said when power is restored the plug will stay off. NO! I just got a 4-pack (May 2023) and I checked this. When power is restored, the plug will come on. That's true regardless of whether it was off or on at the time when power failed. IMHO this is a deal breaker. Always turning ON is dangerous, depending on what's plugged in and whether you're at home to put out the fire. Always turning OFF is bad too, e.g. if it controls a needed heater, security lights, etc. If the plug is really "smart" it should remember the correct state to be in at the time when the power is restored.

Will his work with my iPhone without Alexa or Google?

NO, NO, NO.... it will not because your iPhone cannot connect to the 2..4G wifi! It can only be used with 2.4G network. Your iPhone or iPad will not allow you to switch to 2H.

can I use this for a Shopvac?

The maximum rating of each outlet is 1875W Resistive / 15A, 625W Tungsten / 5A, 1/2 HP. Overpowering the outlet will cause the fuse to overheat and stop working. We do not recommend using it with Shop Vacs if it is over this rating. If it is within the rating, it should work fine. Please contact us at support@bn-link.com if you experience any issues.
