I saw this product used in a YouTube video by a couple that bought a fixer-upper house. Their shower stall, originally a light cream color, was stained to the color of cardboard. The time lapse video showed her using this and scrubbing the shower clean. My shower floor wasn't as darkly stained, but it looked dirty even after trying to scrub it with other cleaners and different types of scrubbing brushes so I decided to try this. Bar Keepers Friend restored my shower to its original color quickly and with hardly any effort using an old scrub brush I had on hand. My shower floor is a textured plastic material and I wasn't able to notice any change to the finish. The shower surround is a smooth plastic and I used the scrubber in a few places on the surround with just a bit of Bar Keepers Friend already on the brush and I could see it start to lose a bit of the shine so I would recommend using it sparingly and not apply directly on smooth shiny plastic materials.

I don’t know what’s in this stuff but it obliterates everything. You can use it on any surface to remove any pesky stains. I use shampoo with some dye and use this to clean my shower of after and it’s perfect. Used it on my stainless steel sink to remove a rust stain and came right out. It will clear anything up!

Using a plastic scrub brush and a bit of water mixed with the powder this product makes it virtually effortless to remove those hard water marks. I used to struggle with CLR and other calcium/lime/rust products, but this one takes most of the labor out of the cleaning process. Always test small area to be sure you will not damage your items. But for most of my surfaces, this product does the trick for those tough water stains!

This product is decent. Its not scrub proof. You still need a good amount of elbow grease, but it does clean better than spray cleaners I have tried on hard water stains in shower.

My daughter uses this in her kitchen and I was impressed with it but had still not bought any. Cue my move into a new rental. New pans, new stove and my request to have my husband help me learn how to put a good sear on something. FIRE. SMOKE. Firefighter community lessons were put to good use and we put out the pan fire but not before the smoke did its damage on the pan, the lid, the wall, and the brand new white microwave. We tried all the Internet and friend recommended tips to get things clean, but none worked. Finally, I bought Barkeeper’s Friend. It worked so well and quickly! The pans and lid? They look brand new! The wall? Clean. The microwave was the one I was worried about. Would it scratch the plastic? It did not scratch the plastic! The microwave is back to factory settings. Barkeeper’s Friend worked so fast I was shocked! Whew. All evidence of The Great Pan Fire of 2026 - gone. Rental deposit protected. I will be gifting Barkeepers Friend to all my friends who recommended failed tips for cleaning. It is very effective and compatible with everything. It is safe to use on all surfaces making shopping easy on the budget. The little scent it has is pleasant and not overpowering. Consistency is chosen by the user whether they want more or less moisture. Highly recommended!!
