I gave this as a little congrats gift when my brother got engaged. It's a cute concept, doesn't take itself too seriously, but provides heads-up style info for what goes into planning a wedding. When I got married and was planning my wedding, my husband would weigh in on decisions without looking at what went into the planning and it drove me nuts. I figured I'd save my brother's fiance the grief and get him a guide to help him understand what all she's contending with in the planning. It has nice tips on what's expected from the males in a traditional wedding. It's a smallish book, not overwhelming looking, and has enough of a touch of humor to draw a guy in who is otherwise not at all interested in event planning or worrying about fussy traditions. Makes a nice gift!

Gave this as a gift to my fiance and he found it to be funny. I read through some of it before and there is actually some great advice and thinking points in there...even the section of "are you sure you want to do this." It had humour too. I enjoyed reading from the part warning about how your bride may seem a little crazy but the woman you proposed to will return haha. I bought this used so had a crease in the cover but no big deal for the price paid. Fun gift from mother or father of the groom (or bride) or from his groomsmen or friends.

I purchased two of these and two of the companion book "The Bride's Instruction Manual"; one set was for me and my fiance, and the other set was a gift for my newly engaged friends. I bought them just for the silliness, but once I got flipping through it I was surprised by how good the advice actually is. I would highly recommend both this one and "The Bride's Instruction Manual" for offering good advice with a heavy dose of humor. I mean, what couple stressing over a wedding couldn't use a little laughter to lighten it up?

What a quick read, but a very satisfying one at that! The tone of the book is lighthearted and fun, and the information is actually pretty useful. There are illustrations that sort of serve as photo tutorials and you'll actually find some really good advice from wedding invitations to picking your wedding party to arranging reception seating. This is certainly not the most comprehensive book you will find on wedding planning, but it is definitely a great little tool to have not only for the groom, but for the bride as well. I highly recommend!

I purchased this for my son to prepare for his wedding day. He keeps quoting parts of the book, and I can hear him chuckling when reading it. These are all good things in my book!

I ordered this book about a month after my fiancé had purposed, knowing he wasn't going to want to talk flower detail or color coordinating.. this book is totally written from a guy perspective like he was just talking to one of his buddies. Visual aids were funny and all the text was informative, accurate, and most of all my fiancé doesn't feel like he's planning a wedding with me. He recommends it as well, and ORDER IT BEFORE YOU PURPOSE!! there is all kinds of info on how to purpose the right way (which he said he "wishes he would have had these pointers before hand because he's never done this before")

I bought this for my fiance because I knew he would need the help. I read most of it myself before I gave it to him and it was really funny too! I think the fact that it takes a serious subject that freaks most men out and puts it into a humorous context is very helpful because I don't think he'd be interested in reading any other wedding-type style books. Buy it for your fiance, your boyfriend (if you know that you're planning to get engaged), for an engagement party, or for a friend or family member who is taking the plunge. It will definitely help them!

Disclaimer: I'm the bride, not the groom. That said, I bought this for my fiance so that he could get a handle on what was going on with this wedding stuff without trying to get him to read any of the "real" wedding planning books currently littering our house because we both knew that wasn't going to happen.This book is well written and funny. It's a quick read, about an hour, with silly illustrations that don't really add much but they're cute. However, as far as providing any useful advice, it doesn't. It pretty much just says to do whatever the bride wants and wait for things to be over. It does make an attempt to go over all the sources of stress for the bride and explain why she's suddenly irrational, but what I was really hoping for was more of a guide to help my fiance feel like he COULD be involved in the planning and that his opinions were also important to this process. This was not that book.Overview: A cute engagement gift for a guy in your life but don't expect it to make him any more useful to the wedding planning process.

This was HILARIOUS !!!! if the groom your getting it for likes a good laugh, get this ! For example there was a page about if their bride said No at the alter, and it listed off a bunch of hilarious things that the groom should do if that worst case scenario happened. Great engagement party gift!

It’s relatable and hilarious...

I bought this as a joke christmas present to be fiancé but it issues very practical. Not being able to preview was risky but it is a truly great book with help for arranging the big day, the first chapter is about getting engaged but clearly a lot of readers will already have done this bit!

Bought as a gag gift for a new fiancé and was thrilled to hear it is proving to be an invaluable tool. Also purchased The Brides Instruction Manual as a companion gift.These will be my "go to" gifts for future couples.

We got this for a freind who is getting married and it was a great laugh! It has some really great parts in it, there are also some usefull stuff in there for education (it helps unravel our female traditions and bridezilla tendencies) All together a fun read!
