If you have confusing and unexplained breathing problems or your asthma has not responded to treatment, this book is for you. The Chronic Cough Enigma is written for people who have been coughing for months or years and cannot get useful answers from their doctors. If you have confusing and unexplained breathing problems or your asthma has not responded to treatment, this book is for you. The Chronic Cough Enigma is written for people who have been coughing for months or years and cannot get useful answers from their doctors. Review: This book is AMAZING!!! - I cannot say enough good things about this book. THANK YOU, Dr. Jamie A. Koufman!!!!!! I have had a chronic cough over 6 years and no physician has been able to figure out how to treat me. I've been allergy tested, ENT's have used the scope of nasal passages to look down throat and at vocal cords, pulmonary function tests, chest xrays, chest CT, put on advair and albuterol even though I did not test positive for Asthma (which did nothing to help the cough and actually made it somewhat worse in trying these options) and was finally recommended to go to a acupuncturist. The acupuncturist treated me several times and recommended a combination of: Health Concerns Lily Bulb Formula and Xanthium Relieve Surface. I took these 3x3 each per day for the first couple weeks and within a month, my cough had become subdued, though had not gone away entirely. I was just so thankful something was working. The thing is, with these supplements you should alternate using and not using them. When I didn't use them, my cough returned. Some further history: I've been on acid reflux medications since 2003. I've purchased a tempurpedic bed so I can raise the head each night. I have changed my diet. I stopped eating hours before bedtime. I stay away from spicy foods. My cough has been so violent at times that I've vomited, coughed up blood, choked on froth my coughing has created and my voice goes very hoarse after coughing, if I can talk at all. If I breath too heavy, it can trigger a coughing fit. So, I have been shallow breathing for 6 years and it has caused shortness of breath. I've dislocated my TMJ during the early stages of this cough when it was super violent. I sometimes choke for no reason. I feel my food is not all going down, but gets stuck. I am constantly clearing my throat. I have been telling the physicians that it's in my throat. I can feel a tightness and if I yawn, turn my head side to side or up and down, it brings on a coughing fit. When I talk on the phone, I cannot get through a conversation without violent coughing. I even feel it more on the left side than the right. After reading the beginning chapters of this book, I thought back to when this all began and I had a sinus infection I tried to treat myself and it ended up turning into a bacterial infection in the throat, in which I needed two rounds of antibiotics to get rid of. When I went to an ENT in the past year, she did a look down with the scope and commented that something was different about my left vocal cord, though other than that, everything looked normal. She even sent a normal report to my physician without mentioning the vocal cord. In this book, it talks about this and I said, "Hallelujah, someone has figured this out!!!" So, if you've had a chronic cough with no relief, get this book!!! I personally recommend the supplements from Health Concerns if you can't get into a physician or treated for this debilitating condition. People just think... "Oh a cough, no big deal." It's a huge deal to those that suffer from it because it alters your entire life. Review: MUST-READ if you’re dealing with chronic cough - This book by Dr. Jamie Kaufmann is a game-changer. I’ve been digging into the topic of chronic cough for a while, and this is hands-down one of the most helpful, well-explained resources I’ve come across and I read and research a lot for my own medical blogs. Dr. Kaufmann breaks things down in a way that’s easy to understand. What I really appreciated is how practical and compassionate her approach is for people suffering or having been abused by the medical system. She gets it! She provides real tools and insights you can use right away. I learned so much, and I’m honestly going to be recommending her book to friends, my own subscribers, and anyone else dealing with a lingering cough that won’t go away. Thank you, Dr. Kaufmann, for writing this. It’s empowering and full of hope.

Good reference material from Dr. Cough-man
A good guide for self care of respiratory GERD. One thing she did not mention that I find helpful is chewing on dried, unsweetened papaya. Soothing and coats the esophagus.

No Index and no Table of Contents makes it very difficult to look up anything.
I just purchased the Kindle edition of this book. My wife was wondering about coffee, and what effect it might have on coughing, so I said, "Let's look in the index." Ah, but this book - at least the Kindle edition that I received - has no index, so then I tried to look at the table of contents. This book has no table of contents. What kind of serious book has no table of contents and no index? I will proceed to read the book from "cover to cover," as it were, to see if there is anything about coffee. I would be interested to know if the hard cover edition has an index and table of contents. I live far from the U.S.A., so hardcover books are very expensive, but if I lived in the U.S.A. I would never buy Kindle books because finding anything in those books is so difficult.

I am so glad I purchased this book
I am so glad I purchased this book. It has given me so much needed information. I suffered from a severe cough for several weeks. This book along with my doctor helped me reach a clinical diagnosis along with treatment. I have airway or silent reflux, something I had never heard of. I've been following the reflux diet as outlined in this book and am pleased to tell you it is working. I no longer have the cough. I no longer have clogged sinuses or hoarseness or dry throat. The dietary changes are not easy, but worth it. If you have had a cough or dry throat or even post nasal drip for months or years and no doctor or specialist has helped you, get this book, and you will be shocked. Our knowledge on conditions and diseases of the airway is very limited, but this book will open your eyes. The read is easy and although written by a Doctor any consumer will understand it. The Doctor's knowledge, expertise and experience is well conveyed. The tables, charts and periodic bold printed paragraphs allow for easy high lighting and reference markings so you can handily look at any section again and again. Thank you Dr. Koufman, well done !

Good in depth book that is helping me immediately with SLR
I have had a reflux cough for maybe 10 years off and on. I bought this book in 2017 and read some of the chapters that were very interesting. I probably got off the track and didn't follow through right away. My SLR cough in 2023 lately became worse and I was thinking of seeing a doctor. I got this book out and immediately dove into the 2-week diet and using alkaline water only for drinking. Everything resonated much more to me, and I am enthusiastic to start cooking with acid-free recipes. I feel like it is healing and my cough has diminished in just 4 days. I will continue on with the detox diet and am very hopeful I can start effectively managing my SLR from now on.

For all Types of Acid Reflux!
Anyone who is suffering from acid reflux should get this book. There are several different types of acid reflux and everyone has different symptoms. This book has tables that help you to diagnose which type you have and what you can do to alleviate your symptoms. I was having breathing issues at night and a weird cough after meals and when bending over......who knew that what I had was 'Respiratory Reflux'. The tables provided in the book can also help you chart your progess and see the improvement in your symptoms. I did not have 'heartburn' or some of the more common symptoms! The author of this book was a prominent New York doctor who treated over 10,000 patients, some who thought they had 'asthma' but it was the respiratory reflux.

An excellent medical description and diagnosis of the various forms and effects of reflux. Without being too complex for the non medic it explains how to deal with the various forms in a common sense way without taking dangerous and unnecessary drugs. I followed Koufmans advice and my cough disappeared in days, the mans a geneous.

Talvez me hubieran servido, talvez no. Decidí no calar x evitar otras consecuencias.
