WindowAlert UV Liquid Marker, Bird Strike Deterrent for Windows & Glass

This is the only solution that I could find that people would not see. This takes a little practice to use, but when I didn't daub the UV "ink" perpendicular to the window, it worked fine. The dauber could be improved, as it's just a bingo ink dauber and we are definitely using this dauber on vertical surfaces! (Manufacturers, please think about this). The dots were so light that the house showed and sold even though I had removed the taut bird safety net and daubed the windows all over with this thing. Yes, you have to position it against a vertical window, but don't start by holding your dauber at a 90 degree angle to the window. You can feel the ink slogging inside, so start with the dauber at a 60 degree angle and move up to 90 kind a slow, and press the spongy part only as hard as you need to against the window. The ink can "slam" into the spongey thing inside if you don't slowly apply the sponge, and it flows out too much and drips. The design of the dauber could be improved. I can't wait until competitors make this cheaper, because it works as long as you apply dots close enough so birds don't think they can fly in between the dots (and into the window). There is a faint image of the dots, but unless you are looking at the *cleanliness* of your windows, you will not notice them. No one noticed ours. Not the realtors nor the house inspection guys.

This product doesn't dry clear, as a matter of fact, it gunks up your windows. Also, I had wanted to put dots on my windows, with this product, but if you squeeze too hard while applying, it sends drips all the way down your window. It looks like when a bug hits your windshield, after application. It does look like it could help prevent bird strikes, but is too messy and makes windows looked gunked up. You can't return it either as it's very toxic, has lots of warnings on it.

I have been using this since 2023. We live in the woods and you can see through our front door to the back. Particularly in fall and winter when the sun is low, those are a mirror of the woods. Making it impossible (even for me when I stand outside) to see the distinction. So we made it hard on our birds. I wanted to share a few things that may help the dissatisfied reviewers out there. - this is for the exterior of your windows. Most windows have a UV coating that will negate any effect if placed inside. - this is not a replacement for decals. It is meant to supplement them. We have $8 ones from Amazon that I barely see now. They don’t obscure the outside for us. - the dots pattern is effective between decals. Decals catch their eye. Dots give them more parameters on what’s open space for flying. - the dots dry to a foggy clear. I can barely see them once dry. But if you are painting stripes etc, it will be visible. - don’t hold upside down or at 90 degrees before you apply. The sponge will get too wet and you will have drips on your dots. Just fill the dauber, hold upright for a sec and then gently tap the window. Take your time. Drips are easy to wipe before it dries if you accidentally make some. - for me, it washes off with water, a sponge and squeegee with no issues. This is one of the simplest, best products on the market for helping your birdy friends.

I put this on my windows over a year ago. It worked fantastic for keeping the birds from hitting my windows and it was clear. Once my windows got wet the dots all appeared. You have to use amonia, per the directions, to remove the dots, it is the only thing that will get rid of them. I will find another solution than this.

It seems to be working. Prior to putting the UV Fluid and the Window Decals on, we would usually witness at least 6 birds striking our sliding glass door every week. Usually, it seems as though they were ok since they would fly off like they were not harmed. But just recently, a baby Downy Woodpecker hit our sliding glass door and couldn't move or fly away, it was, unfortunately, not doing well and it eventually died. We were very sad, so we opted to try to find a solution to end the bird-striking. We found the UV Fluid and the Decals and decided to give it a try. It works well, it doesn't stop the window-strikes completely, but it does help keep it at bay. It seems to work better a week or so after the initial application. We had fewer strikes upon the first few days of using the UV Fluid and Decals, and after a week or so, it seems the bird strikes decreased from 6 per week to about 1-2 strikes per week. It has now been 5 days since the last time time a bird hit our sliding glass door. Application is easy. Clean your windows prior to application, just shake the bottle, and start drawing on your windows from the outside (I drew diagonal lines to cover most of the area in-between the Window Decals). The fluid goes on purple, and dries clear within a day. It is still somewhat noticeable when it is "clear" though.

You can see from the photo that we have an enormous expanse of windows - and we have suffered from bird strikes after we cleaned our windows. This past spring during quarantine, we realized we were having non-lethal strikes once or several times every day, and lethal strikes every other week, terribly sad all around. I was struggling with what to do- I did not want to put glitter stickers or some other tacky option over the nice windows and disrupt the view and aesthetic, but I couldn't keep hearing a bird smash into our window and having to go over to see if it had a broken neck or not. I tried this UV liquid, and tried something that is not on the bottle's instructions. Instead of putting polka dots all over my windows, I instead painted the liquid over the window frames. I hoped that by outlining the glass panes with the bright UV reflection, it would look different enough to them that they wouldn't fly right into the window. It dries clear, you can't tell where I put it- I do have grey paint on my window frames. I waited 3 weeks after painting the window frames to write my review: It Works! I have had no strikes in 21 days. We are still home all day, and my wife has commented on the well it is helping. If you have birds hitting your windows-It is worth a shot. Its not too expensive- it has to be redone every few months so be prepared for that, but it doesn't take long. I have been very happy that I can have my windows and keep the birds safe. Will use from now on.

Barely visible ti the human eye but visible outside and there was immediate stop in bird collisions, Cheaper than collision tape although will wear off and have to be reapplied. My concerns about appearance were unfounded. Great temporary solution

We have a patio door window that was getting struck too frequently. For awhile we had sheets of paper up and that seemed to help, but we were looking for a less obstructive option. I withheld reviewing this product until we had used it for awhile. We've now used it for approximately four months and it has not helped at all. We get just as many strikes as we did before. I applied the product according to instructions. Pro: It doesn't obstruct the view. We can see the little dot marks we made if we're looking for them, but most people wouldn't notice they're even there. Con: It doesn't work. Did not reduce the number of strikes at all. Conclusion: A total waste of money. We'll be looking into alternative products by a different company. Wish we could get our money back to re-invest it in something that does work.

This stuff works well and is easy to apply. I'm disappointed it 'expired' so quickly. I am still using the expired product.... it doesn't seem to be as reflective as when it was fresh. Save the birds!!

This is a great product but it would have been less expensive to just repurchase the window stickers for as long as the liquid lasted. There needs to be more in the container if they want us to be environmentally responsible.

Nous avons appliqué ce produit et aucun résultat positif, 3 oiseaux se sont fracassés dans nos fenêtres et sont morts le jour même et plusieurs autres depuis. Nous avons donc commandé à nouveau des autocollants. Nous sommes très déçus du produit et avoir su, nous n'aurions jamais commandé celui-ci pour tout près de 50$. Un gros 0 pour ce produit.

À recommander pour les vitrines cela évite de tuer les oiseaux surtout avec les nouvelles normes du gouvernement pour les piscines qui obligent une clôture de verre entourant celle-ci. En une semaine j'ai dû enterrer 14 oiseaux ce qui fait de cette clôture un élément de tuerie. Depuis que j'ai mis de liquide UV et rajouter des graminés cela a été instatané car les oiseaux voient des petits cercles mauve et remontent plus haut pour les évités. Je recommande ce liquide très fortement et même pour les maisons. Francine T.
