what do you use for suction hose? I need to draw out of a 200gal. fuel oil tank.

1" clear braided hose. Find it at true value or most hardware stores. cut 1/4" slits in the suction side of the hose so it will be able to suck around the edge of the hose if you happen to push it to the bottom of the oil tank or canister. Love the pump for oil changes works great. also buy a 1" PVC splice when your done you can push the tow ends of the hose's together for storage makes a clean job.

will this pump work to extract oil from generators and pressure washer to a 55 gallon drum and what happens when it runs dry

I have used it to pump out a heating oil tank to a new tank approx 10 ft in air so no issues with that... but flow rate / pipe size is high so it`s not the pump to remove oil from small 4 cycle engines if that is what you are thinking.... running dry for more than a minute won`t be good for the inside of the pump/the impellar
