A sound book edition of this all-time favorite children's tale to delight children and parents alike, Bill Martin Jr.'s playful story Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? introduces a parade of rowdy zoo animals, all illustrated in Eric Carle's instantly recognizable, clean, crisp style. A perfect addition to this fun, noisy tale is a ten button sound panel. As each new animal appears on the bright, colorful pages, children will love to find and press the right button to hear the noises that the braying zebra, roaring lion, fluting flamingo, and other amazing animals make. This chunky board book encourages core early learning skills, including word/picture association and hand-eye coordination, and helps children to learn about the world around them. Review: Great Book for babies ! - The story is cute very similar to the Brown Bear book. As you are reading, you press the button buttons for the different sounds. Some of the sounds are a little muffled and don't sound quite like the animals but a little baby or a toddler is not going to know the difference, maybe an animal enthusiast adult would! I bought this for my one year-old grandson He is totally engaged when we are reading the book to him and he likes us to read it to him over and over . He tries to push the buttons as well. Sometimes he gets them, sometimes he needs a little help.. A classic for sure Review: Interactive fun for littles - My daughter is obsessed with these books and the sounds help make reading interactive and fun! She requests this daily, highly recommend.

Fun and interactive book!
My kiddo loves this book! It’s got nice bright pictures and the sounds are clear. The book itself is nice and sturdy- it has held up to being taken everywhere as it’s quickly become a new favorite and comfort item!

My "when all else fails" entertainment for my baby; works every time to calm him down
My 9-month old LOVES this book! It's my "when all else fails" entertainment I use when he needs to be settled down. It has pulled us through tough times at the doctor's office and on long trips. My baby enjoys the simplistic, yet textural illustrations as well as the strange sounds the animals make. I confess, I bought a barnyard book before this one, thinking my baby would like cow and chicken sounds better than whatever sound a hippo makes, but for him there is no comparison. He really likes all the funky sounds in this book. Pros - durable pages - holds my baby's interest - sounds go in order with book (my barnyard book was all over the place with the sound line up) Cons - some reviewers have complained about battery problems, so check your book as soon as you get it so you will have time to send it back if there is an issue - no polar bear sound, which would be nice for the end of the story. I invent my own for the children in the end of the story. Come to think of it though, my son may view this as a PRO since it encourages a little bit of silliness on my part. I highly recommend this book!

No animal names spoken, just sounds.
Beautiful illustrations, of course, but the sounds are not very quality and just fyi nobody speaks the name of the animal when you press the button. You only hear the sound. So if you want your child to learn the name and they can’t read yet, you’ll have to sit with them and speak the word so they learn what the animal is called.

The sounds enhance this book!
Love having the sounds and being able to repeat them to my baby. My 9m old is having a lot of fun with this one... I almost have the book memorized at this point from reading it so much haha! Not only is my baby learning animal sounds, but my husband and I learned what a boa constrictor sounds like thanks to this book.

Excellent book
Excellent book, good quality print and sounds are also good. However it would have been better if the sounds were a bit louder I feel. But overall i would recommend it
