Edit: Please don't ever stop making this. It's saving my son's life from seizures. He's still taking it every night. He is now 12. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. You succeeded where all the other doctor-prescribed pharmaceutical drugs have failed. I bought this to help with my 11-year old autistic son's unmanageable behavior and sleep because risperidone was nasty. Yes, it was making him calm (suppressing his emotions), but it was lowering his seizure threshold. When I stopped giving it to him, he went into full-on rage for weeks. He also had more seizures than when he was NOT on risperidone. You might ask, isn't he on seizure meds? He used to be but I also stopped giving it to him because he was turning into a monster. It was klonazepam and the first day he took it, he attacked me and pushed our oven toaster off the counter. All these "healthcare professionals" wanted to do was keep medicating our son. Out of desperation, I tried this and lo and behold, 1) his seizures stopped; 2) he slept for 8 - 9 hours straight; and 3) he is calmer and more lucid when awake. He still has his daily angry outbursts, especially with these back and forth lockdowns, but he is a different person now. He sings, draws, colors, and actually reads his books. What I am most happy about is that this totally stopped his seizures. I did a lot of research before giving this to him and became very hopeful when I found out that valerian was the world's first anti-seizure remedy. Italian author Fabio Colonna used it to control his own seizures, and by the 1900s, valerian was widely regarded in Europe as a sedative and anti-seizure. By the way, I should say that before I gave it to our son, I tried taking 1 drop in a tiny cup of water and it gave me horrible palpitations. I couldn't sleep for about 2 hours. I tried it again the next night with the same results. I just about threw the bottle in the trash when something in me said not to. So I kept it in the fridge. Fast forward to our struggles with klonazepam and risperidone, I decided to become my own son's health advocate. I stopped giving him those 2 pharmaceutical drugs and gave him this--just 5 drops (it's potent!) in his little cup of milk every night right before bed, and he's out like a light in 30 minutes tops. He can't even tell it's there as it has a naturally sweet taste! He's been taking it for 3 months now and we're just so grateful for it. But like I said, it has a different effect on different people. It gave me tachycardia, so try a drop or two first and see how it is for you. I have been using this product for about 9 months now and I absolutely love it. It was recommended to me by a friend for helping with sleep and it has done wonders for me. I love that it tastes good and definitely has helped improve my sleep.

Because of chronic insomnia, I have tried a number of valerian preparations. Max Herb was better than most of other the brands. Taste was okay, you get a lot for the money and it was fairly effective. I'm still looking for the best valerian for me, but I would definitely recommend people to try Max Herb to see how it works for them.

This is probably the best and most versitile method to use valarian to meet your relaxation needs. It is not only good to use for sleep but also is a great way to keep you on a de-stressed level even during the day. Also it is safe to use with children , in my experience, it safely makes them less stressed and calm when they have been over stimulated for whatever reason. If you or your child are anxious you may need counseling on recognizing the trigger factors by maybe someone other than a physician. But know this will always be a saving grace when the emotional roller coaster tries coming off the rails. I bought for sleep aid. Not 100% sure if it works or how it works so I don't use it much. It's also gross to drink but I expected that.

Melatonin helps you fall asleep valerian helps you stay asleep naturally. Melatonin messes with your hormones ect and valerian is an herb. I’ma huge skeptic bout this stuff but researched bout this and what it does instead of bothering your brain. I still will be giving this to my children as well. Also big bottle great taste and I paid like twenty bucks. Stick and hold under tongue for best results and make sure you laying down unwinding.
