Secure Denture Adhesive Cream, Zinc Free Denture Glue, 1.4 oz

Since acquiring dentures a few years ago, I have gone thru the all to familiar frustration, who anyone that also has dentures can relate to, of trying to find an adhesive that checks all the important boxes. When I put the adhesive paste on my dentures, put them in my mouth, and bite down, they have the habit of sometimes oozing or squeezing out and getting inside your mouth which is frustrating for multiple reasons. You then have to use a paper towel or something else to wipe off any excess that has become visible on the outside of the dentures, not to mention having to taste the paste, which let's be honest, is not the best flavor. And if you have adhesive paste thats pink for example, like Fixodent's popular brands, then you end up having to spit out the excess as well that has mixed with your saliva, which is weird in itself. This of course doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes depending on if I maybe just put a little too much on, or on an area too close to the ends, it happens. For this reason I made a switch to another popular brand that's white/clear in color, which at least prevents me from having pink saliva if a little squeezes out. Next we have the issue of it being strong enough to hold everything in place. Id say the extra strength Fixodent brand is probably the strongest up till this point. But the other big thing that I know I'm not the only person who experiences this, is the frustration of having to wait nearly 45mins to an hour for the denture adhesive to set. In the mean time you can't eat anything and you also might have to keep adjusting the dentures a little because until it sets, the dentures can slide around a bit. This for me, is probably the thing I hate the most. If I'm leaving into town, or meeting someone, I have to remember to apply my denture adhesive, amd put my dentures in my mouth over am hour before I meet someone just to be safe, and I've always been annoyed why denture adhesive takes so long to set. Enter Secure denture adhesive. Naturally I've been doing a ton of research online to try and read reviews and online posts to try and find other people that share my same issues, amd if they found any solution. I ended up coming across some YouTube videos discussing Secure denture adhesive, which until that day I never even knew existed, because its not available in regular grocery store for some reason. At least not any that I've been to, amd I've checked a lot. The lady in the YouTube video stated that not only did she find Secure denture adhesive to be as strong if not stronger than any other locally available options, but I was delighted to hear her mention that she too was frustrated by how long it takes for other adhesives to dry, and that the Secure product dries significantly faster, in part because its not water soluble, so it isn't affecting by saliva and the natural wetness in your mouth like other products. This was enough for me to order my first tube of it, which arrived earlier today. Not only was the product white/clear (not pink) which was a plus for me, but u was shocked how fast it set after I put them in and bit down for a fee minutes. I'd say that the best circumstance for the other products were around 45 mins to as much as an hour so it to fully set. This product was rock solid after like 15 mins. No sliding around, no re-adjusting, etc. The only thing I'd say I was a bit surprised about that wasn't on the positive side was the size of the tube for how much it was. But then again, because of its strength (which in my opinion is that its stronger than Fixident or any other brands by a good amount) you don't need to use as much, which I guess would technically make it last about as long as the other brands because of having to use more, or re-apply because its still sliding around. So all in all, I couldn't be happier with this product. I was honestly starting to lose hope that I'd never find something that did what I wanted it to do, but thanks to research and YouTube, I was lucky to find out about this product. Its 5 out of 5 stars for me, and I will definitely be making this my new everyday adhesive. So if your picky like me, or have any of the same issues as I described, I'd highly recommend you try this product. You won't be dissatisfied, as its the best adhesive I've ever found 👍🏻

Years ago, I had my top done and I’ve struggled with adhesive I have only half suction so having to use adhesive daily I’ve tried many things on the market and I have to say still today that fix a dent still wins I was really hoping on this would be the foot line singers score holding up the gold trophy! So it’s be clear here’s my procedure Clean the upper piece Brush my teeth and gums Dry denture Dry upper in my mouth Apply adhesive to denture and don’t eat or drink anything for 20 minutes, yeah, I could see where people can be concerned about the burn, but it didn’t bother me because I was expecting it sometimes it’s worse than others, but I’m not even making it a whole day without free application where with fix a dent I can go three days but hey everybody’s different I do actually use the knock off accident accident from Walmart. I don’t see a difference in the name brand and the actual professional fix it. It has for me. It doesn’t work. I don’t want to be that guy, but I know that I was really looking forward to this really working for me and in my eyes I truly did waste the eight dollars to nine dollars and time I guess too Why did I purchase this 100% on review reviews? So let me say this as well. I see people having no issues after eating or drinking, but I’m gonna tell you I was eating soup being that I don’t drink coffee immediately got loose. I was drinking a glass of tea, warm tea. The second time I ever applied this stuff it got loose. Now down to this timing of review had accidentally fallen asleep, but just before I did, I had added adhesive so no food or drink for three hours, upon awakening their reverse So I’ve tried the thick. I’ve tried the thin. I’ve tried spreading out and I’ve tried the placements and unfortunately this product does not work for me but hey everybody’s different but I wanted to let somebody know out there if there’s issues with suction or looseness here’s my experience.

I'm going to make this review a long one because of all the ridiculous 1-star reviews I read. I find it hard to believe that this stuff lasted "2 hours" in someone's mouth without them possessing some sort of supernatural zombie-saliva. This stuff is absolutely fantastic. First, I've been wearing dentures for over 6 years. Until recently I had a full upper and partial (two "anchor" teeth) lower. I have tried (literally) every available cream, powder, or pad available. I've stayed with Sea-Bond pads the last few years because they were gentle on my gums and this is because they helped really "wedge" the plates in and allowed for some forgiveness in fit. I recently parted ways with my two "anchor teeth" and found that the Sea Bond pads, while continuing to work fine for the uppers, just didn't do it for me on the lowers. I decided I'd give my previously used creams another shot. I found the best grip with Effergrip followed by Fixodent (food) and finally, Poligrip. Fixodent seemed to work better with Effergrip when eating things like soups and chowders, but tougher foods were best handled with the Effergrip. It still didn't seem to be enough and I kept losing grip with the lower denture in a very short period unless I put so much on them that I had that feeling like I'd given my mouth a shot of anti-perspirant. Then, a friend in Europe recommended a product to me called "Fittydent". Through some research, I found that "Fittydent" (available on Amazon and about twice as expensive as "Secure") is distributed by a company called Bioforce as "SECURE". I ordered the cream and a set of lower denture cushions (because I'm used to using Sea-Bond). I tried it following the directions exactly (using three small ribbons on the bottom and four on top). The instructions describe "biting firmly" and then "waiting at least fifteen minutes before eating". Done. I was absolutely amazed. It felt like I had real teeth. For the first time in years (every year I've worn dentures, in fact) I felt completely secure eating. The dentures didn't budge. This is especially noteworthy because I'm due a re-line and my lower denture is actually getting pretty loose (gums healing). Yes, I felt the "burning sensation". Fortunately, I can read and understand what "non-toxic" means. I also tried the trick (described in the instructions) of spreading it out and letting it set 30 seconds before trying them. It still tingled a bit but the sensation does go away within (guess?) about fifteen minutes. From that point forward, they're in like they're bolted. My only concern was cleaning the dentures (and my MOUTH!) considering the instructions to use something with a pH "greater than 9". Freakout, right?! Nope. Baking Soda has a pH of 9. Milk of Magnesia has a pH of 10 (higher pH is the opposite of acidic for those who aren't familiar). Baking soda cleaned my dentures perfectly and a little bit on a washcloth with warm water cleaned my mouth completely. This stuff is amazing. Follow the directions. Don't be afraid of a little tingle. I ate corn-on-the-cob for the first time in 15 years today. If the "tingle" really, really, scares you, they have a version for "sensitive gums". I haven't tried it only because I'm so happy with the way the basic version of SECURE works I'm afraid of taking a step backward. I have also tried the denture cushions. They work equally fantastic and are easier to use than the creams, so I now go with the cushion on the bottom and the cream on the top. I take my dentures out every night, clean them, clean my mouth very well, and put the dentures back in (I was taught to do this by a somewhat unusual dentist when I had my first set made as an aid to healing and it has worked well for me since). On a recent trip I was forced to go without my ritual for one night and had great hold for about 40 hours. I still had to pull them out. Give it a shot. I hope everyone who tries is as amazed (and fortunate) as I have been.

First of all, I only have an upper denture. My lower is a partial and stays in place perfectly without adhesive. I dread the day I may lose my lower anchor teeth. I have tried all of the denture adhesives (including pads, powders and creams) that I could find on the local American market. Secure Dental Cream is not available in any store near where I live or travel regularly. None of the other creams were satisfactory. Most of them will hold the denture in place until you have to eat and then everything starts to move. I tried Secure based on the reviews I found here on Amazon. This product works much, much better than anything else I have used. I have never experienced any of the burning other users have described. I have discovered that to get good results takes a lot of preparation. The denture must be clean and completely dry. Determining the amount to use is an experiment in itself. I probably use a bit more than the average user, but I find it works for me. I SPREAD the cream on the denture using a FINGER COT. I doubt that you are familiar with that term, but you can buy these devices on AMAZON. A cot is basically a latex glove for one finger. Without using something like this to spread the cream around, you will spend more time trying to clean your finger than putting in your teeth. THIS STUFF STICKS TO EVERYTHING. I cover the entire surface with the cream using the cot. This ensures that 100% of the surface contacting the roof of your mouth will stick to something and you don't have to bet on it spreading around properly. I also try to dry the inside of my mouth before putting the denture in my mouth (yeah, really...). I also do not just bite down after putting the denture in place. I actually try to push and squeeze the entire surface including in the front against the gums to get full contact. You can actually feel the air and moisture escape as you do this. And after all this, yes.... don't eat or drink for a good long while. I usually keep my denture in place for 12-13 hours and it's always hard to remove after all that time. I have found that often when the seal fails and fluid or air get under the denture, it will reseal by itself. Getting the cream off the denture after use can be a job as well, but all of this is worth it if you don't have to think about the denture all day long. Sorry for being so long winded, but I know that this stuff matters to those of us unfortunate enough to need a product like this. Hope it works for you.

I am sincerely disappointment with Secure Denture Adhesive. After reading many reviews touting Secure I went ahead and ordered from Amazon. A little expensive but if worked as it is advertised it would be worth a few pennies more. In the instruction sheet included in the box of Secure it states and I quote “ Great for Uppers, Designed for Lowers” Also I read that Secure was waterproof and would not wash away when drinking or eating. When I read that I was thinking I had found what I was looking for. However after using the product for several days, I find all the ballyhoo about superior hold and waterproof to be less that accurate (stated nicely). The first day I used I went to dinner at my sister’s house. I had my dentures in for maybe 4 hours. While eating my meal my lower denture came loose then totally disconnected from my ridge. I spent the rest of the night playing cards and such with a lower denture completely unsecured. Over the next few days I used Secure only to find it held my lower denture for only 4 or 5 hours before all the adhesive was completely gone, and by that I mean a denture totally unsecured and absolutely void of any of Secure’s product, a clean denture. Eating and drinking only accelerated that mysterious washing away of the “waterproof” product. Today I secured my dentures at 8:30am. The hold was great and the burning, and tingling was short lived the taste was acceptable. At 2:40pm, 6 hours and 10 minutes latter my lower denture was totally unsecured with no signs of any bonding agent. Not what I would call “all day” hold. I tried to email my disappointment to their customer service at http://www.securedenture.com/contact-us.aspx only to get an automated response from [email protected] that the email could not be delivered. I find that some what shady. Needless to say the hype and grand statements about Secure are less than honest and very misleading. Secure does no better (or worse) than the more common products I have tried, and that I can purchase at a local store. I am very disappointed and will not be spending the extra money for Secure again.

I cannot wear a "traditional" denture, whatever that is. It would make me gag while I was talking and forget about eating. The dentist I went to simply gave wrong fitting teeth and would not be talked to about it. Not being able to afford getting them done again much less trying to get implants, I had to modify mine myself and then use adhesive to keep it in. Before, only the powder stuff worked for me best but I couldn't drink anything but water because it tasted weird. Then I found this stuff and I was leery of pastes because they were messy and didn't last very long at all. But this stuff was amazing from day one simply based on how long it will last! Since I essentially turned mine into a "horseshoe" denture, I had to really pay attention to the instructions. I have to make sure they are completely dry before applying it, and over time I figured out the best way to make it work. You really don't need a lot and I found it to be better when I used even less than I considered to be enough. I use my finger to spread it as evenly as possible, then I use a dry towel or cloth to dry the roof and ridge of my mouth very well, trying not to touch my tongue to the area after (not always easy, haha) and then I put them in place and using slight pressure, hold them in place for no more than a minute. Sometimes there is a little oozing out on the roof my mouth and I just use my finger to wipe it out and wash my hands. Voila! They have actually stayed longer than 12 hours before though that is not typical. They will come a little lose after a bit depending how much I'm moving my mouth from talking or what have you. Things you don't realize or think about before you have dentures is definitely how much your mouth moves through the day whether you talk or not... But that's another topic. Hope this helps anyone who was having troubles and if it didn't, I'm very sorry and I feel for you because I get it. Side note: the sensitive option holds less well but does still work and the minty-ness is not harsh at all.

EDIT: I didn't want people thinking that I immediately started using adhesive on unhealed gums. I did my extractions at 2 different times. My back teeth, upper and lower were removed first. They healed enough in 2 months to do the front upper and lower. That is how I was able to test adhesives. I do not recommend anyone, use any adhesive, on unhealed gums. I don't know how anyone can say anything bad about this adhesive. I'm only 3 weeks into not to having any teeth and immediate dentures. This is the ONLY adhesive I have found in that time that truly works. Very little goes a long way and I mean it holds ALL DAY. Put sparing amount on dry denture, dry your gums and insert denture in your mouth. I even bought a tool to help spread it because it is hard as heck to get off your fingers. You may have a blob of residue, but I use a microfiber cloth on my gums and it comes right off. I just use the regular polident to soak my dentures overnight and any residue is gone the next morning.

I just got a temporary partial and I thought I would never be able to eat with it in. Even after the dentist re-lined it, it was wobbly. None of the regular denture adhesives worked to make it stable, so I did some research online and came across this product. I read the reviews and of course, you have people who think it's worthless and you have people who think it's the best thing ever invented. I'm kind of one the side of the people who think it's really great. I had used Poligrip and Fixodent for years for another partial I had and had always dealt with the oozing and mess. You can't use Secure in the same way that you may have used those denture adhesives though and I think if you did, you'd have a horrible mess with it too. That's most likely where some people have trouble. I was fortunate that I had read all the reviews and either read or saw a You Tube video that showed how to put it on (completely dry denture, don't use a whole lot, spread it thinly all over the denture). If you do that, you won't have any oozing and it stays on amazingly well. And my partial finally stays where it is supposed to be even while I'm eating--hooray! An update several weeks later: when it works, it works, but when it doesn't, it doesn't. When I first use the adhesive, my partial is solid as a rock. I can eat anything and it doesn't move at all. But at some point (usually 6-7 hours after I put it on--no 12 hours here), the seal breaks on one side and I'm out of luck after that. I try to put more adhesive on, but the partial isn't dry so it really doesn't stick and generally, I'm not somewhere that I can spend the time to clean it off, dry it and reapply the adhesive. I'm so disappointed. I have tried another heavy duty adhesive and it didn't work at all, so I really thought this was it. I guess not.
