Horses that needed drugging for the farrier no longer do! I hate always having to resort to sedation so this is awesome. You can tell the horses love the taste and it lasts longer than you'd think. This is cheaper than sedation, too! Minimal odor and very comfortable to hold size. We have bought this product several times since our farrier recommended it.

I should have bought this year's ago! I vaguely have a memory of a friend using it with her horse over a decade ago. I thought about getting one, never did, and then I forgot about this product until just recently. My one horse is being rehabbed through a very complex abscess(s) which means lots of hoof wrapping. Don't get me wrong, she will stand for it but the Horselyx is a a very welcomed distraction and she stands even quieter for my hubs/farrier! My other horses love it too! I can see this being used as a great distraction tool for various things that keep a horse busy and interested in over whatever thing they are not the biggest fans of- like time consuming hoof treatments, injury wraps, shots (if they aren't severely needle phobic), long grooming sessions etc. My horses don't require sedation for the farrier so I can't attest to it being used for horses instead of sedation for the farrier. I also have used this as a reward after riding/training. Only downside, is depending on how sloppy a licker your horse is it can get messy and sticky lol. But honestly, if you're a horse person it's just part of the territory- getting dirty. The stickiness is easily and quickly washed off with just water. 110% would recommend Horselyx!

I am a barefoot trimmer and bought this product for that purpose. It was very helpful! I do think it is a little pricey.

This works really good for distraction when you are trying to do something like have shoes put on your horse or trims and I also used it when my vet was cleaning my horses sheath so that he did not have to have a sedative. The downside is to not wear your good clothes you were going to have it all over you because the horses love it so much their slobs . As a farrier I used to work on a horse that was very old and he had some joint issues and he always gave us a hard time on this particular foot and he didn't hold still good and he kept jerking his leg away and he couldn't pick it up high. Eventually they got this mini licks and used that while I worked on his feet and I couldn't believe how good he stood. He was so old that he died recently but he enjoyed his lick it thing. So this is why I bought one for my own use when I came across more horses that needed to be distracted

My horse loves his horslyx. He is an older gelding who has some arthritis; I always bring it out when the farrier comes. He is hesitant to pick up his rear left leg sometimes, so this helps encourage and distract him enough to get that foot trimmed.

A total game changer! Our mare loves this thing. It helps with farrier and vet appointments. So much so, that both have mentioned that they want to keep one on hand in their truck!

This is great bc I can use horselix to hand feed treats . This is the only safe way that I know to hand feed treats to a horse, Thanks!
