Sturdy, great looking faux pirate boots. The elastic straps are of good quality. Blended well with my black shoes.

These worked great for my ren faire costume. Good value for the price. They were a bit challenging to put on. I did not find the straps to be to small. They fit fine and didn't break during the whole day. I also did not experience any issues with them falling. The material is quite large in circumference around the calf but the laces are super long so I just wrapped them around my calf again. This worked out fine for me. I'd rather have a 'one size fits all' with a long lace that can just be looped and tied.

My mistake not testing these immediately so I could return them and get something else in time for Halloween. First issue, there is no stretch at the top, so they just fall right down to the ankle. You have to figure out a way to keep them up. Second issue, the elastic is so sorry and tight on the bottom there is no way to go over any size shoe. Trying to very gently stretch it over, it immediately ripped. If Halloween wasn't tomorrow, I would just trash them but I have to find a way at this late hour. I was hoping to use these one day a year at the Renaissance Faire, but these are already garbage before I even got one good use. They looked pretty promising and had good reviews but this was a fail.

For the price totally worth it. Adds So much character to the costume. Looks real and of good construction and fabric BUT they keep falling down below the knee when walking. I put velcro on them to stick to the pants and that helped some. Someone else may be able to find a better suited solution to them falling down off the knee. I'm sure it's pretty easy. Thanks!

I will start with the pros: the boot material is nice and they look very good, style was 5/5 and will definitely add to your costume/look Now for the flaws, which are disappointing considering the price: The shoes strap are terribly small, I wear a size 10 mens and stood no chance; both straps broke off. I ended up having to sew the straps together (there were two) to make one large strap. Next issue, the top of the boot was very large and there is no good way to adjust it with scrunching the lace portion together, I ended up tying the laces around my calf first and then putting them through the lace holes. Perhaps they could include some sort of band or garter which would help from falling The last issue, this one is not a biggie and does not effect anything other than style, the portion that is meant to be the boot strap is a bit loose and they could include buttons that are not as raised which just kind of dangle there. Overall, if you don't mind dealing with the issues above the look is great and is a solid faux leather pair of boot covers. If the things above do bother you perhaps try elsewhere as functionality is subpar.

I bought these, fully expecting to do modifications and they did not disappoint. I wear a size 13 shoe, so not surprising the fastening system couldn't accommodate. But it was really small, and poorly constructed. After replacing the two short elastic strips on the bottom with one longer one and sewing it in securely, I had something workable. I used the two elastics to reinforce the back of the heel (seam split open immediately) and at the top of the boot where another seam opened up. I'm docking one star for the poor construction (not necessarily for sizing, although it is related). I'm docking another star for design ... the boots won't stay up. I have large calves and once I pulled up the boots, they fit snugly. But the boots would slide down as I wore them. Instead of being around my calves I kept finding them at my ankles. And that was fitting snug on my legs. Someone with thinner legs wouldn't be able to keep them up at all. I'll probably do some more modifications and insert some boning in them for next time. That said, despite the modifications and other issues, I got several compliments. My brother was convinced I bought full on period boots. He's not the most observant guy around, but still, he raved about the boots and had all kinds of questions. I didn't even tell him they were slip overs.

We ordered these and they came the very next day!! They easily fit over regular shoes and complete the look of pirate or a guy from the Renaissance era. Our only issue was they kept slouching so I pinned them to the pants my husband was wearing.

I bought these for my husband to use with his pirate costume. They certainly gave the illusion of wearing real boots and blended in well with his shoes. He received a lot of compliments on his costume. They fit well and were easy to use.
