It's difficult to tell from the site photos just how these postcards look in 'real life.' For me, the artistic quality was the initial draw; beautifully rendered drawings of little-known species displayed in formal arrangements. Most are marine species that few of us see or notice; plankton, sponges, sea squirts, and decidedly weird jellyfish. Moving up the evolutionary chain to an odd set of fishes and a few more of amphibians, until we reach a single [and spectacular] card of hummingbirds. Joining this odd -- the title is 'Curiosities,' after all -- collection are four botanical cards, each with the slightly eerie and over-wrought feel I associate with Victorian era natural history texts. When seen as a group, this card set makes me mildly uneasy. When seen [and sent] individually, however, they each take on a more artistic aura. The solution, of course, is for me not to sleep with them, where they might induce uneasy dreams, but to keep them safe with other stationery in the desk drawer until ready to send out. Card stock, color, resolution -- all are excellent.

I absolutely love these! They are a great print quality. The ink does smear on the back because it's so smooth so be careful when you write and let it dry, but it's a small issue to me when the cards are as cool looking and sturdy as these. I use them for Postcrossing and will definitely buy again.

Absolutely beautiful postcards. I used them for a little DIY project, as you can see from my photos. I had a great mirror with an ugly old frame and I'd repainted it white some years ago but another coat of paint just wasn't gonna do it for me this time, so I looked for some pretty (& small) tiles to stick to the frame & cover it. Couldn't find anything I liked. Then I looked for contact paper & all kinds of other solutions. Finally one day I happened across these beautiful nature inspired vintage postcards and I knew they'd be perfect! I'm so psyched with how this turned out! Better than I imagined! I feel like I have a brand new designer boho-chic mirror for $9.

I got these for my sister as she's very interested in botany. This connection is truly a treasure. High quality printed naturalistic images on sturdy postcards, and the images themselves were absolutely lovely. A beautiful selection. I might order more just to hang them in the wall!

I bought these to communicate with my friend who is in prison in the UK (I'm in the USA). These can easily be sent overseas with just an international stamp for postage.

I got these cards because I liked the pictures, "Natural Curiosities by Ernst Haeckel", taken from his book Kunstformen der Natur (1904). The illustrations in older scientific books are often of superior artistry. I am more likely to use them as bookmarks rather than send them away forever as postcards.

I love how unique these postcards are compared to other nature-orientated postcards. For the most part these cards deal with aquatic life, such as octupuses, jellyfish, anemone, and seashells, all of which I find very pleasing to the eye! The cards are glossy on both sides, and are made of a very sturdy cardstock that will hold up through even the worst of postal service calamities! Such a great addition to my collection.
