Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do: A Comprehensive Guide to Bruce Lee's Martial Way Review: If you are a fan of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, this book is a must read. - As someone who is now well into their senior years my passion for numerous martial arts (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Boxing, Wrestling. Krav Maga, Combatives and many others) has spanned 7 plus decades. One of the most iconic and well-known martial artists is Bruce Lee. Over the years I have read just about every book and article about him and his Jeet Judo Do methods. This is why when I saw this 400-page soft cover book (Jeet Kune Do: Bruce Lee’s commentaries on the martial way, edited by John Little) I immediately purchased it. First off, this treatise is not an easy read because Bruce Lee goes into great detail on his views and theories on fighting and combat. The simple truth is, even though I clearly understood most of the material, without an instructor who teaches Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do most people will have a hard time grasping the numerous techniques and his personal fighting philosophy in this fantastic book. Bruce comments on a wide variety of topics related to the martial arts and his personal philosophy of combat principles. I found this book to be fascinating, informative and educational. If you are a fan of Bruce Lee, the martial arts and Jeet Kune Do, this is a must book for your personal combatives library. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph H. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective Combative Systems). Review: Alot of details on this book. - There are more details and notes that the founder Bruce Lee who written on those notes which was similar to the Tao of Jeet Kune Do. Martial arts techniques, theories, and philosophy are also well written too. If you have done JKD in general, I recommend to read this.

The Master Dragon
So happy to read these notes and advice on fighting. First bought the kindle version, then bought the paper back for my collection. Extremely valuable information here. Was delighted to read the foreword by Sifu Ted Wong, just inspiring.

Twitters from the Grave
This book is really quite interesting. It is very good. But it is almost entirely short quotes from Bruce Lee's notes. The editors have taken these quotes and organized them by topic and then organized those topics into chapters. And they did a very good job with this. But really, the book reads like a Twitter Feed. You could probably take this book in its entirety, and write it out, quote by quote, to twitter. What this means is there is no depth. You get Lee's thoughts on a topic, but no concrete examples or additional expository text. Like reading The Book of Five Rings and trying to think about how it applies to your life. I like that, and enjoy it. But I wanted to write this review so other people would know what to expect. There are other books that explain JKD much better by using Lee's quotes, and then adding additional exposition to further explain what the quote means. This book is more a philosophy book than a martial arts book.

Wonderful Book
Great book, however I am not happy with the way it was shipped. When you buy a NEW book, you want it to show up looking new. This was shipped in a simple Amazon padded envelope and showed up with some dents on the cover and edges.

Bruce Lee's notebooks on martial arts, complete
When Bruce Lee was in bed for six months recovering from a broken back induced by incorrect weight training (and not from an attack as shown in the film "Dragon"), he filled seven large notebooks with, among other things, his analysis of martial arts. The original "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" was derived from those notebooks, but much was left out. Now Bruce's wife and daughter and his estate have released all the material, which has been edited from notes (most shown in photocopies) to easily read form. I've only read about 1/3 of this book so far, and its the most detailed treatise on combat that I've yet encountered. As such it might be more useful for those with extensive martial arts experience, to spot those few things that they hadn't considered or known or had forgotten, than as introductory material for someone new to martial arts, where the totality of the detailed enumerations would probably be overwhelming.

l have so many books about JKD, Sigo Bruce & Martial Arts in general that l'm shocked that this book is Sigo in his own words showing the techniques he used for his JKD. I was lucky enough to be in a Salvation Army store and found a set of Bruce's Method books for a dollar each, but they aren't JKD & Sigo had moved on to be the Artist we see in Enter the Dragon, choreographed or not. Just the footwork of JKD is worth learning & in Bruce's word's, WOW 🐲
