how tall should a kid be?

My 30" 2 yr old can ride it, but his feet don't touch all the way. He can still push off with his toes though, or sometimes big sis helps. ;) She can ride no problem (and has for a while), and she is 39" tall. Hope that helps...

It all really depends on how tall your child is. I'm hoping it's not too small for my daughter, I'll find out here shortly. Her birthday is coming up, she'll be 2 years old. But she's as tall as an average 5 year old

What kind of assembly is required? What tools are needed?

Best assembly would be using a 6mm wrench, a 13mm wrench, a #2 philips screw driver and a hammer. Can be done with fewer tools but these are the most efficient.

The handlebar will not stay on the tricycle. That little piece does not tighten enough to hold it on. Any suggestions?

I tried to assemble this last night and can't get the handlebars to stay on either. The lift right out. I've tightened the bolt as tight as it will go, but the metal piece with the bolt doesn't seem to have anything to do with holding the handle bar in place. I don't know what else to do.
