Don’t hesitate at this price point. ($20 + shipping)
I ordered this classic enamel cast-iron rounded casserole in a 3 quart size in order to make smaller loaves of sourdough bread. So far I have cooked basmati brown rice and black beans with veggies in it and they have turned out wonderfully. The item is well made with no defects or chips in the enamel. I love cooking in cast-iron and appreciate the even heat dispersion. I took a chance ordering this at a markedly reduced rate in a color I would not have otherwise chosen. I’m glad I did. The item shipped very quickly across country and arrived in pristine condition. The second one is on the way. The color is very neutral, almost like sage/putty. The inside finish is more of a creamy white. I can highly recommend. I have had other Cuisinart enamel cast-iron that have held up extremely well with oven and stove use. They are heavy, but that reflects the density of the cast-iron. I did some research into similar sized pots and apparently there have been issues with some of the other name brands (MS) having the enamel explode at high heat. I chose to go with a known product that I have been very happy with.

Highly recommend!!
I am working on replacing all of my old kitchen stuff because we are currently in the middle of a makeover. This was just a new addition. I have the full chef’s classic in stainless but decided to buy my first cast/enameled piece to add a little pizazz to my cookware. Absolutely love the color and quality! I will be looking to buy some other pieces now. The value was amazing. Definitely as good as the Le Creuset but for a portion of the price. Cuisinart Chef’s Classic does not disappoint!!

A great buy for the most versatile pot in the kitchen
For the price it is a very good buy. My previous Dutch oven was made by Clup which I received as a gift 35 years ago and probably the most used pot in my kitchen. It held up well but I wanted to upgrade to a bigger size and withstand higher temperatures in the oven. While this may not be the Cadillac of dutch ovens, it is a very good second choice as it is Americas Test Kitchens runner up or best buy. I agree that the large cooking surface is a big plus when browning meats or vegetables. Love the large capacity when making Chili, soups and stews since I like to make large quantities to have extra to put in the freezer. Love this pot as much as I love my Cast Iron skillet. It heats evenly, retains heat well and is easy to clean. Stuck on cheese is no problem. Let it soak filled with hot water for about 10 minutes and cleanup doesn't require a lot of elbow grease. I love that it can go from stove top right into the oven. Find myself using it instead of casserole dishes. Works just as well if not better and saves on a dirty dishes. So far I have used this Dutch Oven at least 4 to 5 times a week and keep fining more uses for it almost every day. If you don't want to spend $360 for the top brand, this is by far and away your best buy. With over 40 years of experience in the kitchen this grandma is very happy with her purchase.

Quality construction
This is a quality pot. We use it all the time for different things. Very heavy and should last for a long time.

The perfect Dutch Oven
Very nice cast iron dutch oven. We have been using it for nearly 2 years. Excellent quality. Ease of clean up and use. Beautiful finish. I did a complete review on my blog turfsideup.com

Good if you’re buff
Solid enameled cast iron, holds heat beautifully, and cooks great if you’ve got a stove that can handle the weight. My only real gripe is that it’s heavy — moving it from stove to oven to sink gets old, especially when it’s full. Pros: • Even heat, great for braising and stews • Enamel cleans up easily • Looks nice enough to serve in • Solid value vs. higher-end brands Cons: • Heavy, especially when full • Lid handle gets hot — needs a mitt Tips: • Use both hands when moving it • Don’t crank the heat too high, enameled cast iron prefers medium Four stars. Great if you’ve got the muscle and the stovetop for it.

Not as good as LeCreuset, but costs a lot less
I have some LeCreuset pot that are over 30 years old and continue to serve me well, but I wanted a larger pot. The larger LeCreuset pots were out of my budget, so I got the 7qt Cuisinart when it was on sale a year and a half ago. I've been using it to make batches of bean stew a couple of times a month. It is a large, solid heavy pot. It is showing some minor signs of wear - more than my LeCreuset pots did at a similar age, but seems to be holding up well. I've seen no flaking of the enamel so far, as some other reviewers have reported. One thing that is important to remember is that this type of pot should never be heated when empty - doing so can cause the enamel to flake. They work best for soups, stews, casseroles, and the like. I have my doubts as to whether this pot will still be going after 30 years, as my LeCreuset Pots all are, but if you want a big solid pot now and don't have the budget for a LeCreuset, this seems like a good alternative.

Cuisinart hit one out of the park
What a great pot! I bought a Lodge Dutch oven several years ago and have been using it but it’s extremely heavy, stains like crazy (and you can’t get the stains out no matter what you try) and is awkward to use. Still, trying to find a high quality enameled Dutch oven and avoid the very costly Le Crueset price, I bought this one and not only did I save a ton of my hard earned money, I received a high quality Dutch oven. I have used it several times to make chili, pasta sauce, and even pasta itself and it worked wonderfully (no sticking or staining that I could not get out with Barkeeper’s Friend). IT builds a nice fond which releases all the umami goodness into your dish with ease but somehow avoids deep staining. I am very excited to say HELL YES, buy this pot!! (And this coming from someone who very rarely does reviews) By the way, America’s Test Kitchen did a pretty highly rated review of this pot and it came in as a best buy over their predictive pick of Le Crueset as the winner.

Arrived obviously damaged
Great Dutch Oven. Great color. Good price. BUT… It was damaged in ways that would’ve been obvious before it was boxed and shipped. The enamel was chipped in multiple places inside and out. I didn’t want to deal with returning it, so I kept it and am still using it happily. Because the damage wasn’t in places that would affect the cooking. The one on the inside could spread, but so far so good. Hard to believe they weren’t aware of what they were selling me. :-(
