Trustworthy - Bible Study Book: Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God

I absolutely loved this study of the kings in I and II Kings. Lysa TerKeurst takes you on a journey through the lives of several major kings and uses their stories to help you examine your own trust in God. One question that really stuck with me was, "Are we trying really hard or trusting in God's plan?" That reminder hit home. All my striving and effort mean nothing if I'm not relying on God. The study looks at how these kings had divided hearts and turned to idol worship, which eroded their trust in the Lord. I appreciated learning that whatever captivates our hearts fuels our actions. The study also addressed how fear tests our faith but that real faith in God can cause our fear to fade. Seeing the big picture overview of these kings and how their faith or lack of faith impacted entire nations was so helpful for understanding this part of Scripture. The teaching videos were fantastic and added so much to the study. They were filmed on location in Israel in the actual places discussed in each lesson. Those videos were filled with truth and brought the stories to life in a way I hadn't experienced before. This study challenged me and gave me a fresh perspective on trusting God rather than trying to control everything myself. 5 stars

This is an incredible study on learning to trust God more. I have grown so much in my walk with Christ through this study. Highly recommend!!

I got this bible study after completing two other bible studies by Lysa Terkeurst. At first I was honestly not sure I would enjoy it because it felt like it had such a slow start, but as I got deeper into the study I felt a much deeper understanding of 1 and 2 Kings and how their struggles directly relate to struggles we face today. I was challenged through this study and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love that the video guide is included because I felt like it brought things full circle for me each week. I did complete this study on my own but think it would be great to use in bible study groups as well.

I went through this study with other women from my church, and found it to be educational overall but lacking in content. 1 and 2 Kings are lengthy books, and this 6-session study skips over large segments in order to cover just the major events and selective Kings in early Israel. The study left me wanting to understand more of the context and historical events, so I am currently reading through the entire books of I and 2 Kings on my own. Lisa's book is readable, and best used to get an overview, hopefully challenging the participants to study more on their own.

Beautiful Bible study so desperately needed in my life right now and likely the lives of others. My trust in God has eroded as I have navigated through life encountering hardships that I prayed and begged God to heal. Little did I know that God would use those hardships and unanswered prayers to draw me closer to Him. This Bible study is exactly what I needed.

Lyse is a great teacher that gets to the deep root of our not trusting God, even though you may think you do. It was eye opening. One of the best studies I’ve done in a very long time. I highly recommend this book but be prepared to take a real honest look within your own heart. So good.

I didn't notice anywhere on the description that this book is to accompany a video study course. To get the video, it seems you have to purchase it separately. I'm still reading the book but missing alot of information.

I love this devotional so much it truly is life transforming! Its interactive and thought provoking, it has seriously helped me in so many ways!

The book itself is beautifully presented and the study looks amazing. BEWARE you have to buy or rent the videos for each session! I hadn't realised this and was doing the study alone, I can't afford the videos so think it has been a waste of money getting the book.
