AuroraAU1415XA 14-Sheet Crosscut Paper/CD and Credit Card Shredder/ 5-Gallon pullout Basket/ 10 Minutes Continuous Run Time

For quite some time I had been collecting my junk mail and old bills to be shredded at some point, and it had built up quite a bit. I already have two personal-type paper shredders which work OK, but they are slow, can only shred 6-8 pages at a time and are prone to overheating and jamming. I decided I needed something better and this was my criteria for a new one: that it was under $150, that it could shred 12-16 pages at a time, could run continuously for some time without overheating or jamming and could shred staples/small paperclips, discs and credit cards. This shredder fit that bill, so I thought I’d give it try.It can shred 16 pages at a time as advertised, and it’s a huge timesaver to be able to shred junk mail without having to open the envelope, pull out the pages, and then unfold & straighten them out like I had to do with my old shredders. As a matter of fact, I had no problem shredding two at time; feeding them vertically, I’d start by feeding one in on the left side (where the feed sensor is apparently located) and then feeding the next on right, slightly staggering them. It had no problems chewing through four or five pages of tri-folded pages plus the envelope.I also really appreciate the pullout bin. As it filled up and caused the shredder to shut down due to the bin full sensor, it was very easy to pull it out slightly and shake it to settle the contents and continue shredding. I was able to do this three or four times before the bin was actually full. It was then very convenient to be able to pull out the bin and empty it in a garbage bag, rather than to have to lift off the shredding mechanism from the bin like I had to do with my old shredders. Another nice touch is that the shredder is on roller castors making it easy to move.There were a number of times I did overload the shredded and caused it to jam, but I was able to easily use the reverse mode and clear them. In some cases, the auto-reverse worked to clear the jam on its own.Lastly, running it continuously as fast as I was able, I never had it overheat or shut down. For a shredder in this price range, it’s quite robust. I am very impressed with its performance and can heartily recommend it!

Really like that this shredder does not take up a lot of room and sits nicely along the side of my desk. Like that there is the option for auto on, a window to see how full the bin is getting, and that it will be easy to empty. Have shredded papers and a gift card and they all shredded perfectly and quickly. I just purchased it for home shredding - not anything high volume, but like that it would be able to handle a decent amount, should that need arise. I did not know how to rate the noise level. Obviously, you can hear it shredding, but it is not obnoxiously noisy and it's quick. It doesn't freak my dog out, so that makes the noise level acceptable for he and I! After a lot of comparison shopping and choosing this shredder, I would recommend this one!

This thing is not small so if you have a small space you might want to consider a smaller model. It does have swivel wheels which is a great plus if you have to tuck it behind something and pull it out to use it.The machine is very straight forward, ON, REV, FORWARD....The day after I got it I shredded two big paper grocery bags of paper and it didn't overheat....I probably had 10 sheets at a time and it shredded them without any problem. It did slow down a bit but no paper jams...It also shredded up the credit cards very easily into small pieces that no one would be able to reconstruct... The only hesitation is the power button. It feels a little on the cheap side when you move it back and forth. I'm hoping it will hold up thru all the shredding.I looked and researched for a long time to make sure I wasn't getting a lemon and that the shredder fit all my needs. There are better shredders out there but for the price this is an EXCELLENT choice. If you do a medium amount of shredding in your house this will more than meet your needs.FYI you may have a problem putting a plastic bag in the basket. It kept registering full when it wasn’t. It’s very easy to empty thoughI haven't oiled the shredder yet but I did get a 16 oz oil which I understand you're supposed to oil it about every month. I probably won't use it much more than once a day for a minute or two so I'm not sure when the first oiling will take place....

What u like about it is everything!! It chews up my junk mail like a pro!! It's even quiet!!! My lastShredder was pretty old and did only like 2 sheets at a time!! This one does CDs and credit cards and junkMail( which I get a ton of ). Finally I can keep up withMy junk mail!!! I only tried it threw two full ups butI am really happy so far!!! Why didn't I think of this faster 😂. Good bye junk mail!!!!!

Great value for your money, ease to assemble and empty,

I had my previous shredder for nearly 20 years. It was big and loud and finicky. When it died, I wanted something smaller. This unit is quite compact. It seems to have plenty of power. It is quieter than the old one. It is perfect for the occasional document that I need to shred. And it takes up much less space in my office when it is not in use.

I am shocked at how quite this is , you could shred letters while someone sleeps in the next room. I've not shredded something with 16 sheets yet but it takes spam mail whole and doesn't even slow down .. the only possible issue is that the basket is an odd shape for getting a plastic shopping bag secured inside but I made that work too

Serves my purpose well, but when disposing of large volumes, it is exasperating to have to stop shredding after 10 minutes, and then wait 40 minutes before resuming operation. Other than that, I am happy with the shredder.

Hasta el momento la trituradora ha funcionado muy bien, tien ruedas lo que es un practico para desplazarla, no se ha sobrecalentado con el uso intensivo ni atascado, destroza tambien las grapas por lo que no hay que quitarlas de los documentos, tiene gran capacidad, visor transparente y alerta con foco rojo sobre inminente llenado. Lo uncio que deja algo que desear y temo pueda no resistir muhco al paso del tiempo ,es el boton deslizable de los comandos, tembelequea un poco al moverse en lugar de estar firme y se siente de plastico muy corriente, pero por el precio inferior a $ 2200 es muy buena compra

This model was delivered fom the US with the US two flat pin plug. In addition is does not run on UK voltage, so needs power converter as well as a pin adapter for UK use. A shame it is not adapted as it actually looks pretty robust.
