cheap watering can made good
A modest proposal. Spend $15.00 on this kind of can or $100.00 on a Haws can? The cheap can of course will rust and the seams will end up leaking. Here is my idea: buy the cheap can and a can of Flex Seal - either spray our pour on. With a bit of patience and deftness spray the Flex Seal on ALL surfaces of the cheap can. Let it dry and apply a second coat. You, of course want to do this on a brand new can. If you want to get really slick, use a quart can of paint-on Flex Seal and really coat all surfaces. You will use only 1/4 of the Flex Seal leaving the remainder for other projects. Is Flex Seal cheaply priced? Usually, no. But I have found it for sale on occasion. And, you use but of 1/4 of the Flex Seal, spray or pour-on, when sealing your new watering can. So, we have $15.00 + $7.00 (or so) = roughly $23.00 vs $100.00 for the Haws. The Haws will last a good 30 years. I'll bet my cheap-o can with the Flex Seal coating will last nearly as long.
