I bought 1.25" spacers to be able to install Mustang wheels on my '98 Ranger. Front bolted up no problem. Any narrower of a spacer would likely cause interference of the hubcentric portion of the spacer with the hub of the truck. The rear was very tight to the hub on the truck even with all corrosion removed, so I opted to wire wheel the anodize off the spacer in this area. After doing that it slid on nicely. Going by feel, there is no runout issues. Ill check the spacer to hub torque after another drive or two and will update if things go south. For the price, these cants be beat.
