Easy, Fast and Fun
I wanted to try making soap but was afraid of working with lye. Something about the toxic vapors and potential explosion just didn't appeal to me.This melt-and-pour sampler was a great way to try different bases without lye anxiety. That part's already done! This is my first attempt - as you can see, I've got a lot of room for improvement. (The butterfly and elephant molds didn't come with the kit. They were on sale here at Amazon and make nice thick "guest" size bars.)The two butterfly soap molds were dusted with some of the mica before poured. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I wouldn't do it that way again. Also those cube inclusions in the white bar are made with the clear base so they are nice and bright. These inclusions were made with mica that had been mixed with 99% alcohol. I think that worked better than dusting the mold beforehand. And finally, the elephants have pink mica in a white base. (There is way too much mica in it. I tried to measure it right over the melted soap and my hand twitched.) I did not spray alcohol into the mold before pouring and you can see all the little bubbles messing up the details. Each base made a nice lather.I've had a lot of fun with this and would definitely recommend it to anybody soap-curious.

Great, fun starter kit
This kit has everything to get started making your own soap. I did everything exactly as the very simple instructions say and it was perfect and super easy. I added some essential oils to spice it up, and it is great. This is a really good way to try making soap and see if you like it, without spending a lot of money. I found the microwave method easier and faster than the stove top.

Perfect for trying this hobby
I wanted to try my hand at soap-making but not sure what kind of base I like. I like this kit because it lets me experiment with colors bases and the basics of melt and pour without having to invest in a lot of other things. (I mean, I still did because I think this is a cool craft!) It's just what I needed to dip my toe into a larger world. I've already looked into trying some of the other soap bases Pifitio offers. Really do like that they have samplers.

No directions
I thought there would be some directions with this kit but there weren't. I haven't used it yet because of this...I guess I'll have to search on YouTube.
