Dad bod approved but watch those “inside pockets”
Solid Tactical Jacket - Mostly Awesome, Minor Quirks Writing under wife’s account so if it sounds like she suddenly got into tactical gear, nope, I am her husband. I picked up this tactical jacket in XL (I’m 6’ tall, 200 lbs, rocking the classic manly dad bod) and it fits just right, not too snug, not too baggy. The material is surprisingly soft for something that looks like it could survive a zombie apocalypse. Comfortable enough to wear all day, whether I’m out skiing or just knocking around Denver. Pockets Galore: and I mean everywhere. Front, sides, sleeves, even the back. My wife especially loves the rear pockets, perfect for warming her hands when we’re out walking. It’s like a built-in hand-holding system. Now, a few quirks: Patches: Not sure what the deal is here. I’ve never seen anyone actually use these patch spots in real life. Feels a bit cosplay-ish unless you’re in a tactical unit or a paintball league. Inside “Pockets”: I say “pockets” loosely. Dropped my charger in one and it went straight through like a trapdoor. Landed on my foot. Ouch. Why not just sew the bottom shut? Feels like a missed stitch. Armpit Zips: Ventilation is cool, but a little mesh wouldn’t hurt. That said, my wife likes sticking her hands in there too, so maybe they’re multi-purpose. Bottom line: For the price, it’s a solid buy. Looks sharp, feels great, and it’s versatile enough for winter sports or weekend errands. Just don’t trust those inside pockets with anything that you actually want to keep.

Solid Jacket
I looked at several other similar jackets, and settled on this one. Some of the reviewers didn't like the front pockets, and they are a bit high, but there's an inner phone pocket in the front slash pockets, and it's not that big a deal. Also no inner pocket, but again, not a dealbreaker. I got this jacket delivered the day before the Nor'Easter we just had in the NY/NJ area, and I wore it outside in moderate rain and high wind for about 20 minutes at a time. Water just beaded up and slid off. The hood was comfortable and not overly restrictive. Overall, pretty satisfied with the jacket.

Definitely worth it, hopefully my forever jacket.
So, proof to this review. I just bought it last week and put it to the test this past Saturday. My stepson had a TYFA championship playoff game this past Saturday here in Texas. It was 56° and a steady heavy drizzle or light rain. I was part of the chain gang holding the down marker so I could it use an umbrella. This jacket held up to its descriptions. It eventually got soaked, but I literally stayed dry and warm. I ordered a large. I am 5'7" and at about 198lbs. A bit over weight, and it's a but loose on me. But it's definitely comfortable. I love the pit zips because as I started to sweat, I was able to unzip my pits just a bit for better ventilation and no more sweating and I was still warm. The hood is great in both ways. I love the extended bill, it kept the rain off my face and glasses. And when thrown back, it sits flat, not all puffed out like most jackets. No, here are my downsides. It has plenty of pockets, I wish it had at least one internal pocket. But my phone and smokes stayed dry in the rib pockets 100%. Second downside. Since my jacket is a bit too big for me, the bicep pockets are a bit difficult to zip back up. I have to hold the cuff with my fingers to keep it tight and pull the zipper up. But that's not a defect in the product, just an issue with the size I ordered, so keep that on mind. 3rd issue, there were no instructions on how to roll the hood up and stow away. I had to watch the video for the product a view times to see how they are folding it. But once folded, it's a nice tick fleece lined collar. All in all great product, there is a video on YouTube where a guy has owned his for years and loves it. I definitely recommend. I'm going to order another one, but without the hook and loop patches for my wife. She loves mine as well.

Great price... Rain coat and wind coat.
I'm giving it three stars because I'm still somewhat unsure of it. I've used it in the rain and it does a fantastic job rappelling the rain. It is that rubber like raincoat material. Intercoat is all fleece very nice soft and warm. My contemplation is a couple of things. One is that there are only two pockets in the front and they're up on the chest rather than down by the waist there are no waste pockets for you to put your hands in. Also the two pockets you would think would be at your waistline are on your back .Second is that there are two 10in or so zippers in your armpit. Each armpit has a 10in zipper to open up for ventilation. Wearing a regular sleeve shirt at times you feel the cold metal zipper on the inner arm . I would prefer not to have zippers in my armpits. 3rd at the bottom of my jacket my zipper there are two zippers the first at the very bottom is going the wrong direction the other is coming up to you in the correct direction. It does have 2 velcro squares on the shoulder. One on each side. The hood is fantastic large and fits over a hat. I'm writing this part of the review 48 hours later... I have upgraded it to four stars. Standing out in 30 mile an hour winds 44° pouring rain. Standing post as a security guard under a ledge but in the elements. The jacket felt great look great but most importantly is a fantastic wind and rain jacket. I Now understand why there's two zippers in opposite directions. It looks like you can unzip it from the bottom by pulling up both zippers. With all this information I have now... I would buy this jacket hands down.

VERY SATISFIED
Perfect jacket for tactical or otherwise. Lightweight, not too thick or thin, keeps you warm even in freezing temperatures, repels water and snow, dries quickly. The size was perfect for me giving me the ability to move without it riding up from the bottom or the sleeves pulling up. You can cinch the bottom of the jacket tight to your body to prevent heat from escaping in cold temperatures. Very large side pockets. For a lightweight outdoor jacket, I would highly recommend, especially if you’re a hiker in cooler temperatures.

Keeps you warm
We bought this jacket for our Alaskan cruise and let me tell you, when you wear this jacket when it's in the high 40s and the 50s, you stay warm. It's a great product and definitely a good buy. We definitely recommend it to others.

It's OK...nice fabrics but missing some features.
So I received this jacket last night and noticed it came shipped in a simple zip-loc bag. When I tried to open the bag, the zipper came clean off so I ended up cutting the bag open. This was a portent of things to come. The jacket itself was fitted about right (XL), with a soft, brushed interior and sturdy outer shell. The hood was spacious with an additional bill to shed rain and the collar rose up enough to seal the jacket well. The zippers all had little pull tabs and operated smoothly but seemed a little undersized and I felt like I might snap the metal tabs easily. The cuffs have both elastic and Velcro to reduce infiltration by the weather, and there are a couple of armpit zippers for added ventilation. A bonus feature is the large, exterior, double-zippered "kidney/butt pocket" on the back that allows storage of additional items. It seems lightweight (a positive feature) but after a minute or so of wearing it, it's apparent that it really holds heat in well. I can't speak to how well it sheds water yet. However...some features of this jacket are mis-represented: 1) Others have noted that the "zippered pocket" on the inside is nonexistent; it's literally just a flap of material (actually the OUTER hand pocket) with no sewn bottom that lets anything you put in it fall straight through. I suppose you could simply stitch the bottom shut and create a true pocket, but it still won't be zippered. It's like the girl who was supposed to sew that pocket in quit but the company just continued production/distribution without her (-1 star). 2) There are two mystery Velcro tabs on the outside/back of the shoulders which I presume is used to secure the hood. However, the pathetic little flap on the inside of the jacket's collar that looks like it's designed to attach to those fastener points and keep the hood folded is WAY too short and will not reach at all. The photo shows where the flap ends on the other side of the hood material and it clearly is not long enough to reach the lower fasteners at the collar line (although it can reach the upper tabs to partially secure the hood). Therefore, NO folding of the hood like the photos show; get used to it unless you fashion some sort of "flap extension" that reaches to the lower back tabs. Maybe I'm missing something here...(-1 star). Overall, I like the fabrics used in the jacket and the overall design even though some of the details fall short. The price is fair for the quality. I intensely dislike advertised features that turn out to be lies. I considered returning it but I can modify it (the inner pockets and hood keeper) to suit me. That said, this product gets 3 stars.

Quality tactical jacket at a reasonable price
Really good quality for the price paid, would buy again without hesitation. This is pretty much the same jacket you get from high end tactical brands for 1/3 of the price. It's perfect for cold Canadian spring/autumn if combined with a hoodie underneath, the water repellant is working as expected as well. The only 2 minors issues is that the large pockets on each side is located on the chest level instead of normal level. The other one is the tightening cord for the hood is exposed inside and is easy to get tangled in. Otherwise the zipper is of good quality and covered with fabric helping to keep you dry. Plenty of pockets and the lenght is just a tad longer while keeping a good proportion for arms.

Recomendada 100%
English version: (Español más abajo) I bought this jacket for my trek on Malinche, and it really served its purpose throughout the entire adventure. It kept me warm from start to finish, even when we camped at 3,800 meters above sea level and started the ascent to the summit at -2°C. I can confidently say that the quality/price ratio is excellent and totally worth it. 100% recommended for anyone looking for a reliable jacket that performs well in extreme conditions. I’ve attached a photo of the summit as evidence.

Better than MEC
OMG. I love this coat. So glad that I did not buy the $250 MEC coat that I was looking at. This coat is just as good if not better than the issued stuff when I was in the forces. Ever fits over my MEC fleece and has arm pit vents. Nice!!
