We have woods behind our home and we have priced out pest control services that are merely bringing bait boxes like these and placing in the blocks we buy for bait inside and well have saved THOUSANDS Of dollars by placing these around our home and baiting them ourselves. We do a monthly replacement of bait and that is it. These bait boxes are so effective when maintained consistenly with bait. We have seen so little activity and when we discover activity we add another bait station and that stops that. These are ALL outdoor, at our sheds and the perimeter of the home, the appearance is basic black, they go tight to the foundation, they are durable, we have multple and some have been through the winters alread with temperatures below zero. so they work and maintain. They are versatile for anywhere around the exterior of the home and the sheds. The value for the money = to us unbeatable, we are not paying thousands of dollars to have pest control here, we use them month after month and have seen MAGNIFICENT results in the reduction of MICE, Chipmunks and MOLES around our home instead of having to set up traps in the home, this baited handles the details outdoors. Buy enough to go around the foundation perimeter.

Purchased 3 of these to put around our property. We’ve recently started having an issue with voles near our home. I liked this because we also have stray cats, armadillos, and raccoons that frequently show up on our cameras throughout the evening. However I am only wanting to get rid of the voles/mice/rats without potentially poisoning all the other animals. I did have to place a large rock on top of each to ensure they aren’t moved around by the larger animals because they are lightweight. However I haven’t had an issue with that since doing so. I also saw activity the first night of placing them outside so we are hopeful that our vole issue will no longer be an issue soon enough.

Very sturdy and seems really safe. Pro tips: pull out the little package inside through the hole, it has the key to open it. Slide the key into the grooves and push hard. It opens right up (standing it up on the edge is helpful when doing this). It comes with an additional attachment for "keyless" entry, but I want this unit to be difficult to get into (as it was without the key). The bars that hold the bait need to be hammered in, I could not slide them all the way down by hand. The box will not close properly if the bars are not fully seated. I like that they will hold the bait in place with less chance of bait being taken out of the box. You cannot see the bait from the outside, it is well hidden with walls within the box. The hole seems small to some for a rat, but rats and mice can wiggle through very small spaces. I have high hopes for this. It is a last resort as my chicken house has become overrun with rats!

These bad boys do their job well. And yes I would purchase them again. Remember people when handing the baits wear gloves and wash your hands before handling food!

So I have one of the older versions of these boxes that uses the metal key that inserts to open the box, and I'm pretty sure you have to utilize 300lbs/in force to get that little key to actually work. Usually it also requires slipping and jabbing yourself in the gut with the key due to the terrible old design. The new design is excellent with a plastic key that inserts and can even stay connected to the box so you don't lose it. Works without jabbing yourself in the gut or straining. Functionally perfect. Killed every rat within a 3 house radius of mine. Even my neighbors complimented me for taking out the pack. Excellent value and if I didn't already have enough, I would buy more of this design. But do be careful, these are so effective that the little critters will all be wiped out in one fell swoop and there will be no one around to eat what remains, so there may be some bodies to manually remove to avoid smells.

The rodents did not even touch the bait. No idea why. I used gloves so my scent was not on anything. I bought quality poison too. Could it be the hole was too small for them to enter? Could it be my rodents are some sort of Einstein rodents? They won't even step on glue traps and I have those all over the house.
