I was raised on homemade everything. As an adult, box mixes taste like box mixes, so when I want a good brownie I go to a bakery. Times are tough money wise, so bakery items are no longer in the budget.A friend suggested I try this brand box mix...I'm so happy I did!These do NOT taste like they came from a box!I substituted avocado oil for the vegetable oil, and added an extra egg yolk as suggested on the box for a fudgier brownie.Straight from the oven they came very close to my mom's homemade brownies! I used butter to grease the pan, this gave it a crunchier outside and a good homemade taste, not a chemical taste.I love a crunchy top on my brownies, and will experiment with coating the top with butter before cooking. I know butter isn't the healthiest, but it's a brownie, I wasn't craving healthy, I was craving ooey gooey goodness that comes from a brownie. This box mix gave me what I was craving.As for the sugar content, I personally didn't taste it as sweet. I could taste the cocao more than I could taste sweet, so that was a pleasant surprise.I wrapped the remaining ones in Saran wrap and stored them in the fridge.Two days later, the stored brownies were even better than the first day! And believe me, they were good on the first day!I will definitely buy more of these!I highly recommend them for people who like a quick and easy dessert that tastes like they made it from scratch, and doesn't taste like chemicals.

This is a great base mix for brownies. Wouldn't call it FUDGE brownie, but it is easy to make and I like that I can add my own touch to it. You need to know the the first and main ingredient is cane sugar. There aren't any unhealthy low quality additives that I can tell and I like that! Since I am more of a "European" baker (meaning I like to be a little lower on the sugar amount), I added ground flax seeds for a nuttier flavor as well as dark chocolate chips and a handful of roasted salted almonds.

Honestly, nothing special. Even after adding an additional egg yolk to yield more fudge-like brownies as the box suggested, these were still kind of a cakey. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy them again - any other brand is better.

Awesome mix! Very good results and extremely tasty. I added two table spoons of coffee concentrate to make mocha brownies are they were excellent. Overall, for the cost, this mix great. And since it comes from Whole Foods, it has quality ingredients.

These were perfect. We cooked them exactly as the box said. They were great texture and flavor. Super easy to make, my 7 year was able to make them. Good amount of mix to make a small pan of brownies.
