Vacu Vin Original Wine Pump - 1 Vacuum Wine Stopper - Wine Saver - White

As someone who realy enjoys a glass of wine, or 2, but NOT the whole bottle at the same time, about 10 years ago I discovered this GENIUS of a little wine keeper system! I know there are more expensive systems out there, but those are just not in my budget, AND, I cannot imagine how they could work better than the VAC-U-VIN! I have been proud to give many of these as gifts to friends and family - I have been extremely pleased with the storage of wine (not sparkling) AND AT ROOM TEMPERATURES, with the VAC-U-VIN. I mention this, because there are those of us who truly enjoy wines, but do not have built-in wine-cooler refrigerators, or even much space to spare, often, in our regular refrigerators - So the VAC-U-VIN's ability to keep wines for a week or several weeks, AT even room-temperatures, is a real plus. Just know, I realize that refrigerating even VAC-U-VIN-sealed bottles would be even better for maintaining the integrity of the flavors - The VAC-U-VIN and its rubber, self-sealing corks work simply, and so well: Once the cork is in place, the VAC-U-VIN is then placed over the rubber stopper, and,depending on the air volume left in the bottle, you pump by hand as much of the air as you can, out of the bottle. And, with most of the oxygen removed, this greatly curtails the deterioration of the wine, keeping it very nicely until you want the remainder. COOK with wine? VAC-U-VIN would be great for keeping the remainder on hand for "the next time"! There is nothing else to buy, no gas cartridges, no other ongoing supplies - Simple, Inexpensive, and WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! What more might one want?!? I will continue to use my VAC-U-VIN, share them as gifts, and I hope you will enjoy using yours as much as I / we have! LRC

Gets the job done. As with similar products, best to wash with warm soapy water and gently brush the bottom, then rinse thoroughly when done for the day. Extend (completely) it upright, with the opening facing down in your dishrack so that it dries overnight. Good care will prevent mold from forming on residual wine (remember, comes from grape juice!).

This product works exactly as it should. I highly recommend it.

Wine must be protected from excessive oxidation or it turns to vinegar, thus "wine vinegar". This stopper and pump set preserves the quality and taste of wine beyond a few hours fairly well, for at least as much as a day. My opinion is that of a grocery store wine shopper. The stopper and pump extract air from an opened bottle with ease and thereby extends the life of the wine in the bottle. The pump clicks when "enough" air had been removed but I can continue to pump and pump and get more air out. The remaining wine is preserved nicely for at least a day: I don't think I've let any rest for longer than that.

MUCH BETTER than others I have tried! The stoppers seem to seal very well and hold their vacuum. The pump is easy to apply to stoppers and pump, and the stoppers 'click' when proper vacuum is achieved - very convenient. Two other brands I've tried are inferior (one similar with separate pump and stoppers was terrible - returned, other with pumps that stay with bottles marginally OK but poor in comparison with the VacuVin. Time will tell how it holds up though.

Have ordered this twice, and recommended to friends. It definitely helps to extend the life of my wine.

Great purchase. It is very easy to use and I think it works. My wine tasted the same as the day before after using this.

It definitely removes air from the bottle and creates a vacuum. No way to know how good of one or how much of the air was removed. When the vacuum is released there seems to be a decent in rush of air. Obviously it is depends on the volume of air space above the wine but as the wine level decreases the air in rush goes up so it’s definitely doing its thing. How long that maintains the wine is yet to be seen as we haven’t had a bottle retained by much more than 24hrs as yet. But if removing the air increases the shelf life then it should be working. Certainly works better than the cork or twist cap.

Don’t order from this seller. Items delivered are not Vacu Vin. Instead generic cheap vacuum system provided.
