Sangean SR-35 AM/FM Analog Pocket Radio

Just buy it. Otherwise you can't imagine it.Editing after 1 yr 6 months: it has strong reception power which is far far better than any big size radio in India. Its sound is not like ordinary radio rather like a smartphone sound or home theater's sound. I bought it @ 2800/- for its sound quality.

I received my radio on December 10th, 2018 and I love it, The radio takes two AA batteries and they seem to last forever. The battery compartment door is attached to the radio so there is no chance of losing it when replacing the batteries. I am still using the first pair of batteries that I put in when I got the radio The radio's dimensions are: 4.92 inches high, 2.76 inches in width and 1.26 in depth.The radio comes with a wrist strap and a user manual. On the right side of the radio is the tuning dial and the AM/FM switch and on the left side is volume dial which is also the on/off dial. On the bottom left is the headphone jack. The radio has a very nice antenna that also swivels and it also folds nicely into the back of the radio when not in use.The sound from the radio is the best that I have ever heard from a portable radio. FM sounds especially good with the antenna extended, AM sounds great as well. The radio is able to pick up a lot of stations that other radios can't pick up.The radio is very lightweight and has nice round corners which make it easy to carry in a shirt or jacket pocket. If you are looking for a portable radio perhaps one to have when the power goes out and you need to hear weather reports or you just want a radio to listen to while out for a walk, then this is the radio for you.I give it 5/5 and I highly recommend this radio to anyone that is looking for a high quality radio.

I read quite a few negative reviews, which would typically put me off, and I’ll just continue searching... but with this Sangean radio I decided to also watch some video reviews before continuing to another product (Sony was next on my list). So after watching few videos I could clearly hear the difference. I have several portable radios and they all have this tiny box like sound, pretty similar to the sound from a cellphone speaker... but this Sangean guy definitely didn’t sound like other radios. Then I thought I’ll take the risk and just buy it and in case it has problems as described by quite a few negative reviews I’ll just return it. So I ordered the radio and it has been only few days and I am quite happy with it. The sound quality is like no other radio of this size I’ve ever heard. It is full and definitely doesn’t sound tiny and has well defined lows and highs and no distortion of any kind at normal listening volume. Hopefully the radio keeps on working for long time because only based on how it sounds I think that it is pretty good value for money and definitely a five star radio. Other aspects of it are ok too. I am not so much into listening to AM radios because of all the interference from household items such as dimmers, fridges, etc. but from the little time spent on AM I think that tuning works decent. FM on other hand is what I listen to all day and I think that this radio is perfect there. I have no complaints whatsoever, it has a great reception and because of the excellent speaker it listening is really a pleasant experience. I will post another comment after an year to share how it performed in time, including how is the battery life or if something goes wrong, etc. Meanwhile I’d highly recommend it to anyone who cares about sound quality :)

O aparelho é excelente, ótimo desempenho, tem sensibilidade e seletividade aprimorados e uma qualidade sonora excepcional para o seu pequeno tamanho, além de ser bem construído com material de ótima qualidade. Excelente radio, la recepción de FM es estéreo, los sonidos son claros y nítidos, es un radio compacto y ligero que puedes llevar en la mano, bolsillo o mochila.

This radio exceeded my expectations. The sensitivity was much better than I expected on the AM dial for a radio this small. The dial calibrations on both AM and FM are accurate as well. I am also very impressed with the audio quality as well as how much volume it puts out. The only thing missing is a dial light to make tuning easy in the dark. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a pocket size radio that pulls great reception and has great audio quality.
