Luggage repair. Fasteners are easier.
Fixed old ~29" vertical suitcase, straight roller. One of two wheel housings shattered--dried-out resin-plastic. Replaced both housings with new ones. Wheels replaced.Started out with 3/4" rivets washer pairs. Fastened through new housings with four of those side holes. Surprisingly, 3/4" isn't long enough for the four back holes--those most important. So, I needed these longer riviets. Finished.I'm not truly certain that this will prove a long-term fix: The OEM rivets were quite impressive and strong. Nothing like that seems to prove available for the public. This is a saddler lcompany product. This rivet style is common In crafting, though. It's perhaps intended for belts, purses, leather work adornment, etc.If these rivets fail, I have fasteners and thread-!ocker ready to redo the work. Time will tell....With luggage repait the use of both types of the intended pound-in washer rivet tools proves desirable: The multipurpose tool, which lays flat atop the rivet end, along with the tools, which hold the rivet endvertically, should both be purchased The corners and sides of the luggage-interior makes sole usage of the multipurpose tool sometimes prore awkward and difficult.

The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is the head of the rivets looked rough, like they got no attention after manufacturing. Since I couldn’t use them the way I received them, I used a polishing wheel to take the stains out of the copper.Copper rivets are focal points and a great way to fasten projects together, so they should be ready to be used when you get them
