Great for amateurs or experienced gardeners!
This book is fantastic! I am an experienced gardener and I found new information. Broken up into chapters and sections for veggies and herbs-soil tips-some companion gardening-pests and diseases. Color photos and easy read. Quick for references. I have now ordered 2 other books in the series. Great book if you are just getting started or just want a reference book.

Spectacular guide with concise, detailed, and useful information
I was seriously impressed with this book. I usually borrow books from the library first to ensure I like their contents, as it's saved me from a few bad impulse purchases, but the reviews were so glowing on this that I felt like I had to give it a shot. Hint: it was worth it for me! This book is filled with concise but detailed information, including individual growing guides for individual types of vegetables. It covers nearly every aspect I looked for help on, from amending your own soil to raised bed planting to composting to indoor/container gardening. As a beginner that has been doing a ton of research, this has been my go-to by far. It also has some really useful logging pages to create a habit of recording your garden statistics and attempts. This helps me get started on a logbook that will have valuable insight when I look back at it for future seasons. Some of the information may be basic for experienced gardeners, but there are a few things I've seen here that aren't in any of the introductory books, so perhaps experienced folk can find something for themselves as well! Fantastic book, would recommend!

Good for very basic introduction
It's good for beginners or if you use it to record things (but a notebook is easier and cheaper). It has some good information in it, but I guess I expected more information. I was hoping for something a little more authoritative - many crops are not discussed and some important concepts have little ink dedicated to their discussion. I suppose I was hoping for a planting schedule or chart, and maybe a bit more scientific background information, and at least some more application notes. I suppose I will put my own, more informative, charts and references together. Personally, I do not really plan to use the notes sections which are a larger proportion of the pages than I realized - I have a notebook for recording things and did not need that here. I feel like it will be the gardening book I read or reference the least, but otherwise, it is nicely assembled, has nice aesthetics; if you want a very light quick start into gardening it's pretty good actually, but expect to graduate from it quickly if you continue.

recommend to all gardeners
was very happy to get this. My dad swore by it, THE OLD VERSION 100YRS “OLDER” DID LOT OF FARMIMG AND PLANTING IN HIS DAY. being half that age, I will be a new user “of the newer version” I’m still only halfway through reading up on tomatoes 🍅 excellent information. It has a lot easier instructions than the old timer. With good visuals
