Is it easy to assemble?

It's a little complicated model to assemble. You'd better heat the spareparts to make it soft when you assemble.

Can you put it safely in a fishtank as a decoration?

I think so. I would just be concerned about the toxicity of the glue you would use and wonder if it would leech into the water over time. Some tropical fish may be very sensitive. I used my skeleton in a diorama depicting a T-Rex embedded in a cliff side. It wasn't free standing. The plastic itself is not the rigid plastic of my youth. It's slightly bendable. The pieces are numbered, but the numbering is VERY small. Like I said, it would be best to start the assembly at the tail. The rib cage area is complex and the diagram isn't very clear. The finished piece looked very good though. Nice coloring, for one thing. I hope this helps. Good luck!
