Quality by price
I’m impressed, this filament works very good when polished the final result is the same as the photo, the only issue was the filament is wet and needs to dry for about 2 days after that it works great

Arrived super wet. Otherwise fine
Holy hell did you store this in the bottom of a lake for 10 years? Dried it in my filament dryer for 3 days and it still pops like mad in the hot end.. Also stringy af, tho i expected this as many people say this about PVB.

The stinkiest rice krispies I've ever purchased
All jokes aside, this PVB filament stinks to high heaven. It also sounds like a bowl of rice krispies, after you poor on the milk, when it's extruding due to the fact the vacuum sealed back was not sealed and this stuff must have absorbed all the moisture it could.I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the other name branded versions and wanted to give them a chance even after hearing others comment about similar issues. There's definitely a quality control problem going on, or perhaps a disgruntled employee as it appears the bag was cut prior to my receiving it.I'm fortunate enough to have a filament drying box that I can print from and that had been this filaments only real saving grace. I was able to get good prints once I got this stuff properly dried out and put in a proper humidity controlled environment. If you're willing to deal with the smell and can properly dry this filament then it might be worth the savings, otherwise save yourself the trouble and spend a few extra bucks for the higher end PVB based filaments available.

Great for useful parts
Very strong and precise. With linear advance tuned, my calibration cubes have dangerously sharp corners. The color is too bright for pretty, detailed prints, but it’s nice to have a big, cheap spool for test prints and practical parts

Bright, vivid color across clean layers!
This green in very bright. It is close to RAL 6018, which is close to PANTONE 363, but direct light will lighten the perceived shade in that area. The depth and contrast are among the better filaments I've printed. The surfaces are incredibly smooth. Layer lines are very well blended, especially on smaller objects like the supports for my desk glass. The listed features include “no bubbles” and this filament very much lived up to that claim. Other silk PLAs I’ve printed have sometimes exaggerated printer defects such as ringing at high speed, but this filament hid that very well on a CR-10 whose only upgrade is a dual-gear extruder. So it looks great, even on an average printer, but this filament also makes printing easier. Printing direct to glass worked better than expected. To print on glass you’ll need a much more level bed than if you printed on tape. Silk PLA is especially great for printing a bed level test since the intense reflectivity of the filament will vary enough that you can easily identify issues. I was able to level my glass bed (switching over from tape)with this filament manually by eye. Printing on glass rewards you with a mirror-finish which is complimented by the silkiness of the sides and top. I was able to print the triangular mesh piece (over 250mm wide!) on glass in a workshop below 10c/50f without any curling! 10 brim lines helped, but that is still impressive for a print to hold that well on untreated glass!Regardless of manufacturer, silk PLA tends to string moving from various parts of the print, assuming your slicer software isn’t especially clever about wiping and retracting. This silk PLA isn’t immune to this, but it is comparatively easy to remove. The hand pinch-and-pull works most of the time, but there is always clipping off stray hairs too. Because the strings have substance to them, this makes them easier to remove, even if visually it doesn’t look as appealing. So many times I’ve only realized after taking pictures/videos that there are strings on my print, but because the strings are highly visible, you catch these issues before spending time on a photo-shoot, SERIOUSLY HELPFUL!Overall, I am very satisfied with this Reprapper Silk PLA and look forward to printing more spools of it for both personal and professional client use. This filament was given in exchange for an honest evaluation.

Arrived Sealed but Completely Waterlogged- Reprapper Replaced Promptly!
Update 3/1/2023: I reached out to Reprapper directly and they promptly sent out a new roll free of charge. It just arrived nice and fully vacuum-sealed and after a quick temp tower it's printing with no issues (aside needing to up the retraction+cooling) and no popping!Pros:1. Is PVB; taking the bent bits off the spool during install into my printer and putting them into a jar with IPA, they started to melt into red goo within the hour.2. The red color is nice and is very close to the official photos.3. The spool is made of some kind of thin paper pulp but it still rolls smoothly on my "The Ultimate Spool Holder".4. Sticks well to PEI beds at 65C.Cons:3. The odor is a bit strong. It's like that first burst of cardboard and cheddar you get when opening a new box of Cheez-Its. Ventilation is recommended.Definitely contact Reprapper if you find your roll arrives without a good. strong vacuum and pops like a cup of soda when fed into your printer. They ended up being the easiest customer support to work with.

Great, except it REEKS.
This is my first experience with PVB so I don't know if the smell is normal, but it is nothing like the slightly sweet smell of PLA. Best way I can describe it is like powdered cheese, but not in a good way. Out of the bag it smelled, and it got worse during printing. It's making my entire filament storage box smell horrible so I'm probably going to have to store it separately.Prints well for me at 210-215c and 65c bed. Stringy, but vapor polishing with 91% isopropyl alcohol cleans up the parts well after major cleanup is done. The texture is eerily smooth and almost rubbery once the sticky layer dries out. My spool printed fine out of the vacuum sealed bag but I did immediately put it in my filament dryer and printed with the dryer running.

Works on AM5 at 250mm/s
Printing this on an Anker M5 at 250 mm/s without issue. Mind you these are basic shapes, but I find the print quality is on par with the official filament.Printing with .04 mm nozzle at 220°C and bed at 60°C.

Malo
