Can anyone recommend a lawn improver that doesnt make the lawn brown and burnt looking?

Can you use it if you have dogs?

Yes. It is Best Applied Moderately (As Per Instructions) To A Wet Lawn, Where Subsequent Rain Is Due In The Next 48 -72 Hrs.Its Not Intended To Be Applied To Dogs Paws, So Your Dogs Are Best Kept Off The Area While It Does Its Work.

when is the best time to apply - have lots of moss so wanted to clear this then have it scarified - bit early for feed but need to get moss cleared

When the grass/lawn is reasonable dry and on a dry day I would suggest you scarify first, then by early April or even a little earlier when the outside temperature starts to get over over 13c during most of the day apply the evergreen , your lawn will get a good start and it will stop and kill the moss.
