What shows up has varied over time 2022/2023
I ordered these in fall of 2022 and, like the reviewer from January 2023, what was sent was Brace-Gard Squares (in the blue box with the clear lid). Meanwhile, as of Feb 2023, the Amazon listing for Brace Gard Squares will actually send you what is pictured here (the strips, in the sparkly colored boxes).I actually like the Brace-Gard Squares way better (they are squishy enough to lie flatter against your teeth, though I could see some people might find them too thin), so I will try ordering these again. Will I receive Brace-Gard squares again? We shall see!Update March 2023: What came was actually something entirely different, nice soft narrow strips, soft like the Brace-Gard Squares material, not stiff like the strips with sparkles in them. They are quite nice! Expensive, but I would buy these again.

I'll "stick" with the wax ...
Ordered the silicon based product based on the glowing reviews, unfortunately my experience is not as glowing - and I will stick with the wax based product from another manufacturer and use this product selectively.I have metal wire braces with front mounted metal brackets on bottom and white ceramic on top. I also have coils on the front of the lower to spread the teeth. So I have several points of irritation that I am addressing - the coils, select brackets, and the wire ends. What I found with the silicon vs the wax is:1. the silicon is more difficult to get to stick - I make sure I dry the area first as best I can - but I have yet to get them to stick on the ceramic brackets - and it tends to stick to my fingers when applying, so hard to get to stick to material when just lifting my finger2. the softness of the silicon is an issue - when I apply to the coils if I press even just a little bit on the silicon material, the coils shred it into pieces - pressure from my inner mouth causes the silicon to shift over time3. takes much more for each use - For the coil application I have to use at least 2x the amount of silicon material vs the wax for it to be effective - for the wax product from GUM I use 1 to 1.5 of the little squares on a coil - with this I use 1/3 to 1/2 of an entire row4. It takes a bit more effort to clean off (minor point - due to it's softness and self-stickiness, bits of silicon remain in the coils and brackets when I remove the materialGiven the problems I have with the silicon based material, I will use the wax product as my main solution. I will not let this go to waste and will continue to use this sometimes for the coils and with the wire ends in the back until I run out.It does come in fun brightly colored cases which I can see some people preferring to carry with them, but given the difficulty of putting on this material I don't think I personally will use it anywhere except at home.So ... "sticking" with the wax because the silicon does not stick for me.

This is wonderful. Much better than what they give you at ...
The Orthodontic Silicone strips are such a life saver. My daughter got braces on this past October. The orthodontic office supplied her with packages of wax strips to help with the irritation from the new appliances in her mouth. While she done very well with the whole process and never complained too much, she still had a sore mouth. When she tried to use the wax that the dentist office supplied her with, it wouldn’t stay in place. It kept falling off. Even when she would get it to stick it wouldn’t last very long. Once I ordered these Orthodontic Silicone strips, she was able to put the Orthodontic Silicone strips on her braces and the Orthodontic Silicone strips would stay. She could even sleep in the Orthodontic Silicone strips and not have them come off. These Orthodontic Silicone strips are much better than the regular wax strips that the office gives you. The Orthodontic Silicone strips comes with a pretty large amount so they last a pretty good while. My daughter plays the saxophone in her high school band and she uses the Orthodontic Silicone strips to help where the pressure is on her mouth when she plays her saxophone from her braces. The Orthodontic Silicone strips we shipped fast also. I ordered them and 3 days later received them. I could not ask for a better product. Anything to keep my daughter as pain free as possible!

Like it Better Than Wax!
I just got braces and my ortho gave me a sample container of this silicone, as well as a container of the similarly looking wax strips. After trying both, I like this one a billion times better. They both work well for protecting vulnerable, sore areas, but here are the differences:Wax: The wax is easier to get on, and teeth/braces do not need to be so dry for it to stick. But that's the only benefit in my opinion, as getting it off is a pain. You need to dig it out with a toothpick because it likes to break apart into pieces. Plus it can melt with hot liquids.Silicone: It harder to get on because the teeth and braces need to be pretty dry. I just use a piece of paper towel or a Q-tip to dry the area first (I make sure the q-tip doesn't leave fuzz in my brackets). But the awesome thing is that once the silicone is on, it stays really well. You can even eat with it on. When it's time to take it off, it comes off all in one piece very cleanly. And if you have it on several brackets with the silicone touching each other, it'll come off in one clean 'bracket-shaped' strip. The price for these nine packs is great as well. I don't worry about using it whenever I need it, because I know I have plenty.

I like this better than wax because it is smoother and stays longer. I have invisalign and the edges are brutal. I take out a 1/2 of a line of silicon at a time and roll it thin. Then I put it around the edges while the invisalign are out and dry, fingers are wet, and the silicon is warm from rolling it. Then I put the invisalign in my mouth and with wet fingers, smooth the silicon over the edges. Rolling the silicon out keeps it from being too much and putting it right at the edges before I put the invisalign in will get it in the right place. Putting it on the invisalign while it is already in my mouth is difficult. When I take the invisalign out during the day, the silicon usually stays when I put them back in and I can use it all day. I change it once a day. To get all of the silicon off of the invisalign, I run them under cold water and use an electric toothbrush then the soft pick on the dental floss. It took a little bit of time at first but doesn't any more.
