PERSONAL 911 Safety-Sport AIR HORN

This is a great little air horn. First the negative: It is small, so it does not have a long life span. Now all of the positives: It is small, so it can easily fit anywhere. It is as loud as the larger air horns. It is very effective with telemarketers.I was receiving 3 to 5 telemarketing calls every week to my cell phone, for about 5 different types of products and services. Every time they called, I asked to be removed from their list, but to no avail. Then, for the entire month of September, every time they called, I told them not to call me back or I would have to take drastic measures. Enter $6 Safety-Sport Personal 911 Air Horn. Beginning in October, when I received a phone call from a telemarketer, I would begin speaking to the telemarketer, and gradually lower my voice to a whisper. Then 'BWWWAAAAAHHHHH' goes the air horn. Some of the responses were yelps, hang ups, and things that are not suitable to post in this review...but I had warned them. In November, I had fewer than 10 telemarketing calls...and I have not had any in 2017. The negative that I listed above was not a negative for me. It lasted long enough to rid me of all of my telemarketers, and there is still a little juice left, but not much. Best $6 ever!

We bought the PERSONAL 911 AIR HORN for our family to use while outside on our property, especially with roaming dogs and bears around. We also take them along when hiking for added safety. These air horns are incredibly loud and work perfectly for scaring off any potential threats.The sound is intense, so be sure not to use it too close to your ears or you might go deaf! Despite the noise, it’s a crucial tool for our outdoor adventures and provides peace of mind knowing we have a reliable way to alert others or deter wildlife.Highly recommend this air horn for anyone who spends time in areas where safety from animals or emergencies is a concern. It’s a great investment for both personal and family protection.

The sound, with or without the horn, is deafening. It will quiet a room. I have bought a couple of them over time, and the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that sometimes it can leak.

I am a solo hiker and there have been more times than I care to count when I have been accosted by loose dogs on the trail. The dogs are frequently far ahead of the owners and when they see me they take a stand, growl, bark, snarl and block my way. I had one pitbull lunge for my face before the owner was able to restrain it. I feel helpless in these situations.Then I purchased this product. I have had the opportunity to use the horn twice now on loose dogs and I can testify that it works. It startles the dog and they turn away and run back to owner. It startles the owner, too, but I feel good using it because I know it does not harm the dog and it protects me from these assaults.I have not used the whistle yet but I have read that it works better than the horn on vicious dogs. I haven't used it yet because the dogs come up so fast that I do not have the time to pull off the horn.I also feel safer as I hike alone and if I should be injured I would be able to use it to attract attention either by blasting out the Morse Code or, I am told, three blasts for emergency.Overall, my sense of security on the trail has increased a hundred fold.I have been keeping the horn in the pocket of my hiking pants with the horn part sticking out so I can grab it quickly. Unfortunately, yesterday I was out on a fairly difficult hike and I lost it! I must have been pushed out while climbing over a rock or something.I just came to Amazon and I ordered three more; one for my backpack, one for my fanny pack, and one to keep in the car. Thank you so much for this product and I highly recommend it. (ps I am a female and other women could really benefit from this product).

Excellent! It's only 5 inches long and can fit easily in a pocket or purse. It will easily scare anyone around you with just a short "beep" of it. Okay, it's not as loud as the bigger ones but it's powerful. Don't be fooled by the size. This one comes out loud and clear, meaning you mean business when you are using it.I have 2 bull-headed dogs. They fight once in a while. Their fights are not a constant thing. It's once a month or every two months. But enough to make me worried. All I have to do is press this for an instance (less than a half a second), up into the air, and they pay attention to me, not each other. Fight's over!Don't point it directly at them! Don't make them deaf! Put your arm straight up in the air and press the top of the can.I can't say how long they last cuz I haven't used a can up. They've been good. But if I hear them growling at each other (few and far between now), I say "Do you want the horn??"!

Good small and works well

My roommate lied to me about how friendly, housetrained, and quiet their dog was before I signed the lease. It bit me the 2nd day after I moved in, barks at me EVERY time I or anyone else enters the house, and pees/poops in the house every week.I just can’t take it anymore after 3 months of living with it. The dog is so badly untrained and so is it’s owner! So I bought this thing and decided to train it myself. After coming home one day it barked and I instantly pressed the horn and followed with a stern “No!” It shut up so fast! It never does that! The horn is loud and piercing.I can’t comment on anything else about the product because so far I’ve only had to use it that one time.. the dog doesn’t bark at me anymore :)

It is irresponsible and dangerous to sell personal defense items that don't work. I bought this air horn to defend myself against aggressive dogs on my trail runs. Today I had a dog charge at me. When I went to use this air horn, it didn't even make a sound. I tried multiple times while using it exactly as directed and it DID NOT WORK. The dog was not responding to its owner's calls, and continued to come at me while I tried the air horn again and again. I could have been bitten. PLUS, this item is not returnable, so I'm out the money.

I can’t believe I paid $61 plus tax for this. Feeling like I’ve been taken.
