Works Great!
I originally had a MyQ smart garage door controller, but after replacing my opener with a Genie unit, I could never get the MyQ system to connect. The instructions mention that it may take several attempts, but after numerous tries, I eventually gave up. I also purchased an older Mercedes that has built-in garage door controls, but it would not connect either. I'm not sure why, but I assume the MyQ unit may be more sensitive to third-party devices. To be fair, the unit I had was an open-box purchase and was a couple of model generations old. Another concern for me is leaving a garage door opener in the car, especially when the car is parked in the driveway. That makes it far too easy for someone to gain access to both the garage and the house. I considered the Genie Aladdin system, but the cost was higher than I wanted to spend, so I decided to try the eKyro instead. My garage door opener was listed as compatible, and eKyro offers an adapter if needed, which gave me confidence it would work. Installation was straightforward. You do need to connect a few wires, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The only challenge I had was finding the right location for the door sensor magnet that tells the app whether the door is open or closed. Interestingly, the system seemed to function even before I had the magnet installed correctly. After some trial and error, I found a good mounting location and got the open/closed status working properly. Part of this problem was due to my door being older and moving around more than what a newer installation would. The app has worked great. I now have access to my garage door from my phone no matter which vehicle I'm driving, and I can leave my car in the driveway without worrying about giving someone easy access to a garage door remote. For my needs, the eKyro turned out to be a practical and affordable solution.

Great opener that works with all smart device set ups
I had purchased this opener as my second choice as my first one did not work well with my Google Home + iPhone set up. The eKyro opener is far superior simply because it works with the Smart Life app, which works with IOS and Android. Plus the Smart Life app has a CarPlay integration. So it seems that it should work for everyone no matter what devices you own. Plus since Smart Life is an app that works with various smart devices, it means that you likely will have multiple uses for it. My garage door opener is a LiftMaster 8500 wall mount. It is an opener that requires the free accessory in order to work. The accessory is basically a remote control that is connected to the eKyro. When you give the command to open/close the door the eKyro simply sends an electrical signal to the remote with triggers your garage door opener. It is very easy to order the accessory on the eKyro site. And the shipping was very fast. I ordered the at the same time as I ordered the opener on Amazon and they arrived within a day of eachother. The opener comes with an instruction book. This device is very easy to set up. And eKyro provides very clear video instructions (easily accessed from a QR code in the instructions book). They provide instructions for adding the device to Smart Life, installing the opener, and creating scenes in Smart Life. Initially the opener was not working for me. Because I could hear the click, I knew it was receiving the signal to open/close. But it wasn't transmitting it to the accessory. After multiple attempts to make a good connection between the opener and accessory, I ended up email eKyro customer support. Their customer support is absolutely stellar. Their response time is super fast. The initial suggestions to trouble shoot did not work. So they quickly offered to send me a replacement opener. That opener arrived very fast. Unfortunately, I had the same issue with it. But, they were able to confirm that they had tested it before sending it and knew that it did work. As I said the issue was with the connection between the opener and the accessory. No matter how I tried, I was not able to make a good connection with the wire connection terminal that came with the accessory. It was a bit odd. But in the end, I ended up using twist wire caps to connect the opener to the accessory and that solved the problem. Now I am able to easily open/close my garage door via voice command to my google home speaker or by tapping the button in my Google Home app, Smart Life app, or on my car's touch screen in CarPlay. I cannot give their customer support enough praise. The response time, patience, and eagerness to help was unexpected and uncommon. If you are in the market for a smart garage door opener, this is the one that you should get!

The best invention since sliced bread!
Thereโs an old expression that something is โthe best thing since sliced bread.โ For me, the eKyro Smart Garage Door Opener might actually deserve that title. Why I Bought It: I Forget to Close My Garage Door. I frequently leave my garage door open without realizing it. The eKyro solved that problem in two very effective ways: 1. Automatic Alerts When the Door Stays Open: Using the app on my smartphone, I set the eKyro to alert me every 10 minutes whenever my garage door is open. My phone buzzes and shows a message that the door has been open for at least 10 minutes. With one tap on my phone, the door closes instantly โ and I get a confirmation alert saying itโs closed. No need to walk to the garage at all. You can choose any time interval you like, and you can turn the reminder feature off temporarily if you intentionally want the door left open longer. 2. Scheduled Automatic Close Times: The second feature is even better: you can program specific times during the day or night for the eKyro to check your garage door โ and automatically close it if itโs open. For example, I used to have it check every hour from 4 p.m. to midnight. Now I have it check every hour, 24/7. You can customize this for different days of the week, such as a different schedule on weekends. Even if I forget to turn the 10-minute alerts back on, the scheduled checks function as a safety net. Remote Control From Anywhere: Another excellent feature: I get alerts when the garage door opens or closes โ no matter where I am. I once saw notifications coming in while I was 1,700 miles away in another state as my housekeeper opened and closed the garage. And if I want to open the door for a neighbor, a repair person, or a delivery, I can do it right from my phone. If they forget to close it, I can close it remotely. Thereโs also a history log, which is surprisingly useful for tracking when the door was opened or closed. Installation & Support: Installation was very straightforward, and the included videos are excellent. Troubleshooting: I did run into one issue that confused me at first โ and several reviewers have mentioned the same thing. Sometimes it seems like the eKyro has โreversed,โ showing the door as open when itโs closed, and vice versa. The fix is simple: adjust the two magnetic sensors so theyโre closer together (about ยผ inch) when the door is closed. I actually broke one of the magnets while adjusting it, contacted the company, and their customer support was exceptionally helpful in getting everything working again. So if you think your unit has โreversed polarity,โ or acting โopposite,โ donโt panic โ just adjust the magnet spacing. Final Verdict: In my opinion, the eKyro Smart Garage Door Opener really is one of the best inventions since sliced bread. It has solved my forgetfulness, improved my home security, and given me total control of my garage door from anywhere. I highly recommend it.

Very Nice Controller
I decided to get this device to help me with my forgetfulness if I were to accidentally leave the garage door open at night or if I were to accidentally leave my keys behind inside the house and lock myself out of the house. I've given this device an overall score of 4/5 for several reasons: Installation can be easy, or it can be not easy. I had a hard time because the supplies given were screws for the magnetic sensors to be mounted to the garage door. However, my garage door is made of the similar material refrigerators are made from so unless I used a power drill they weren't going to go in. The flip side is that because of the material, I can mount the sensor to the frame of the garage door and the free magnet to the garage door itself. I ended up finding that the gap in between the frame and the door was too wide for the magnets the device came with. However, because the sensor is magnetic, all you need for the bigger space is a stronger magnet such as a strong refrigerator magnet. I have a two-car garage and the cord for the sensor was just long enough to reach the top of the frame you'll see in the video, I mounted the wire to the ceiling. The 2nd is the control portion. You can set this device up in the Smart Life app pretty seamlessly and be able to setup multiple rules of when the door will close automatically and under what conditions. One note I would make is that by default the timeout alarm will go off after 15 minutes, this can be changed in the settings. When it goes off the app will just send you a notification by default. However, you can use this timeout alarm within the setup for other rules. For example if weather is rainy and the timeout alarm goes off then you can set the garage door to automatically close. The timeout alarm only runs when the garage door is open. If the garage door attempts to close it will reset the timer on that alarm. I say attempt to close because even if the garage door fails to close the timer will still be reset. If the garage door fails to close and the condition from before is still true, the garage door will still be open and timer will start again. Smart Life also has Alexa and Siri integration, just to focus on Siri for now, you can setup a shortcut within Siri to automatically remote control scene when you say certain things. I use "Hey Siri, open the garage door" and "Hey Siri, close the garage door" to open and close the door with my apple watch as you can see in the attached video. The next I want to cover is Alexa integration. I only gave this section 3/5 because I find that this device has problems staying linked to Alexa and after 10 hours-ish of being plugged in, it will eventually become unlinked from Alexa and you won't be able to control it with Alexa echo devices or from the app. Very annoying. The fix however is easy, you'll be able to see in the attached video I have a wall mounted timer running in between the outlet and the plug for the controller, which is setup to automatically power-cycle the device during the day. It cycles the device off for 30 minutes during the day and cycles the device off between 2 and 6 AM. To put it simply, what fixes the unlink is power cycling the device. You can pick up one of those timers pretty inexpensively from a store like Menards, the one you see in the video was $4.99 from Menards before tax. I have it set up to power cycle the device during the time when I'm the least likely to leave or arrive home, let alone be at the house. Watch the video if you want to hear me explain this too.

Best way to modernize a old unit!
Super eazy to install and program! Only thing is that the sensor took a little more time but altogether it was a breeze. It's way more cheaper then upgrading the whole unit and the app is super easy to use.

Very smart and functional garage door opener
One day I was away from my home and the garage door opened itself. I was shocked because my home was totally wild open when I got home. So I purchased the smart garage door opener, itโs a fantastic decision I made recently! Easy to assemble and program. The guide videos are very helpful~ I can control and monitor my garage door all the time wherever I am! Occasionally the app notice would make me confused. The notice shows door is closed and opened at the same time. Or the image shows door is opened; but door is closed actually.

Just What I needed
I bought this out of necessity, not because I need, want, or even like smart devices. I live next door to a very large military base. The Military owns the frequency that garage door and automobile remotes operate on. About 4 years ago or so they started using this frequency and when they do, when you live as close as I do, everything that uses a remote stops working. When it first started I thought something was wrong with my opener. I extended the antenna to the outside, no help. I changed the control board, no help. Finally I realized what was happening. Garage door manufactures do next to nothing to get around this issue. They want to sell you a new opener but won't guarantee it will work. My opener is less than 10 years old. Anyway, the Military use of this frequency is becoming more and more common. When I finally purchased this device, I hadn't been able to open my garage door for over a month. Of course it started working a day before this arrived. So this is for those times when my regular garage door remotes won't work so I'll always be able to get into my garage. The kit comes with pretty much everything you could possibly need to install it. Mounting it to the opener is easy with the double sided tape provided. The hardest part, for me was figuring out how to mount the sensor that determines when the door is open or closed. The good thing is you can have a pretty wide gap between the switch and the magnet. I suggest when you first get this device, you download the app, plug in the device and set it up in the app before doing anything else. Then lay the switch on a flat surface and move the magnet slowly towards it while watching in the app to see when it senses the door is closed. This will give a good sense of how far the magnet can be from the switch which will help you when mounting it to the door. Do is a couple of times to make sure. From here, installation is easy. Just mount the unit to you door opener, connect the 2 wires to it. Plug it in and run the sensor to the door. That's it. Simple. I wouldn't think it would take anyone more than 30 minutes to install this including securing all the wiring and making sure the installation is clean. The app is pretty straight forward and has lots of options for setting up smart features which I'm not going to go into. They have plenty of very good videos to help you install and setup the app. The only smart feature I use and that makes sense to me is using GEO fencing to open the garage door when you arrive home. This is a nice feature and works perfectly. I'm sure a lot of you will find a lot of the features useful for you. That's a bonus, for me, it's just so I can open my garage door when the Military is jamming the signal. It's a good product, works as it's supposed to, easy to install, and a lot of support videos. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Works great but needs two big changes
Install was easy and instructions are very straight forward. I have a purple button garage door opener and used the paperclip test to see if I needed an adapter. I did not but if I did they send you one for free. Works great in the app on your phone but Android Auto/Carplay needs an update. You can only open the garage door when at a complete stop. This is pretty annoying because when I am driving home I would like to open it a few minutes prior so I don't have to wait. Again not the biggest thing, just annoying. The other change is they need a reverse option for the magnets. The magnets tell you when the door is closed meaning you have to run the wire all the way from the garage door opener to the door. This could easily be fixed and reduce wire runs if they just have it changed to when the magnets aren't connected the door is closed but this is not an option. It works fine but I did have to spend an extra hour running the wire cleanly.
