Achilles Shield, Heel Blister Prevention & Protection by Vertical Insoles, 1 Pair (Men (8-10.5))

Hubby here, These little nuttin's of an anything saved me a pocket full of money. I had just bought a pair of $250 Ariat work boots, which seemed to fit fine in store, but after a few hours it became obvious these were not going to break in proper at the heel. No taking them back, as I had already applied 3 days of treating. I bought these inserts and am now wearing those new boots without a problem. I don't see these having a slip problem with typical low heel shoes, but with boots the top pushes down when heel is pushed in; I resolved the issue with just a dab of silicone at the top to adhere the insert to the back portion of the boot. I still gave this product 5 stars, cuz ....... $250!!! lol

These worked quite well for me, I usually struggle to break-in a new pair of dress shoes, mostly because I have some odd-shaped heels with some extra bone sticking out the back of my foot. I wish these were maybe a little more substantial of material, but the function worked very well.

Seller responded to my inquiry quickly. I learned that the mens and womens were the same, just different packaging. Great for women who have large feet, like I do. Having cerebral palsy, plantar fasciitis and Achilles issues, these don’t look like they would do much but they help, and smaller heels in comparison to the rest of my foot, everything gaps. Also great for any shoes or boots that are flexible in the back like Converse. I like that they don’t have adhesive as most adhesive ones don’t stay on long anyhow. They did move around a little, but that stopped after lacing up, and I quickly forgot about them. I may try them under my orthotic. Since the wound is healing from where my ankles were rubbed prior to having any heel guards I think they will be even better once that’s completely healed. Even with that healing, I have felt much less rubbing and my boots have felt good today. I wish these came in a pack with 2 pairs.

Tried to use 4 times. Absolute waste of time and money. Back to doubling up my socks. Cheap and not tall enough :(

I am a 16-year-old guy who plays soccer competitively and already had a couple injuries this year. I stopped wearing a new pair of dress shoes because they would rub and cut into the back of my heel. I put these vertical insoles in the dress shoes and it stopped the pain so I can wear the shoes without risking my game. I'm 5'8" and wear a size 9.5 in shoes and these fit well. Very happy with this purchase.

Before I got heel protector, I already had an open blister on back of my heel. Protector felt good, stayed in place without sliding around. And my heel did not re-blister! After I heal completely, I’ll most likely not get another blister. Thanks for a good product.

I use them for my lowtop sneakers and loafers that don't offer much heel support; I must say that the Achilles Shield is surprisingly helpful. The great design fits into my size 13s fine (and the soles stay hidden even in my really low shoes), the padding is easy to get used to and increases shoe comfort a bit. All in all, a solid product that does exactly what it advertises!
