Love the price, size and texture of cherries. Nice dark thick syrup. The only thing that throws me off a little bit is the subtle but VERY distinct flavor these have compared to luxardo and fabbri brands of cherries. It’s not a bad flavor, it’s just different; and I don’t prefer it to the more expensive brands. The first time I experienced the flavor is when I bought Walmarts “bettergoods” brand of “gourmet cherries” and I thought the weird flavor was brand specific so I never bought them again. I tried this peninsula brand and I would have bet 1000$ they were the same cherries as the Walmart ones. Sometimes wal mart sources things from elsewhere and rebrands them. I was certain that Walmart bought these from this peninsula company and rebranded them “bettergoods” I’m not exaggerating- to me they are identical in taste, appearance, texture, etc. and identical in nutritional facts and ingredients except for one small difference in the sugar content. So I guess I was wrong, apparently they are not exactly the same. So the distinct taste of these cherries must be specific to “U.S. grown and made” cherries/syrup which is the case for both the peninsula and bettergoods cherries. That being said, if you like the taste of these cherries and want a solid dupe for a few $ less- try Walmart’s “bettergoods” brand of cherries. If you want to experience the “real deal” and don’t mind paying more, go with luxardo. I hate going with the majority opinion or trendy option but I can’t deny that luxardo cherries are the best in my opinion too but unfortunately are twice as expensive. All in all I think peninsula cherries are a great option for the price.

I usually use Luxardo cherries for my whiskey drinks but thought I would give these a try. I might actually like them better. They are firm and not overly sweet. I still like the way the Luxardo mix with the drink in terms of flavor, but I prefer eating this cherry when the drink is done.

If you are expecting the same flavor as a Luxardo cherry, you maybe disappointed. However I would rate them as just as good but they taste a little sweeter and the syrup is a little less thick. But a good substitute and cost less. Not sorry for the purchase.

Very good product. Just arrived today and I tried a few cherries and the taste and quality are very good. Happy to see a nice product made in USA. The packaging was very good - - wrapped tightly in large bubble wrap and arrived in perfect condition.

I love the taste of these cherries and also the syrup. They are perfect for a good Old Fashioned. I add some syrup to the drink vs adding more sugar. The syrup dissolves nicely and enrichens the color of the drink.

I was worried about ordering a glass jar to be delivered. I shouldn’t have been! The jar was carefully packed in very heavy duty cylindrical “bubble” wrap. I’m super pleased with the product and how it was prepared for shipping! Thank you!

Great for old fashionds, beautiful color, great taste at half the price of others. Fast shipping and wrapped to ensure no breakage or leaking. They're very versatile, the wife even uses them for baking.

These are not quite as sweet as the Luxardo cherries and seem to have a more complex and pronounced flavour ("cherry squared"?) Still seems like a lot to pay on a 'cost per cherry' basis, but they're good and make drinks better. My wife likes adding the syrup into her Old Fashioneds for extra flavour....

These are a perfect balance of tart and sweet. Have a soft crunch to them. Perfect for on old fashioned (if you like them with a cherry). A lot of people prefer luxardo... but i disagree. The aftertaste and hint of tartness from these to be superior. I have tried a lot of cocktail cherries and these by far are my favorite.

These are the absolute best cherries for an Old Fashioned. If only they weren’t so expensive.

I tried cocktail cherries on what of the best old fashioned cocktails I had in a great restaurant and I just can't get over how rich, dark, tasty these compared to maraschino cherries. It gives any cocktail 🍹 an air of elegance in every sip. It inspired me to actually get this and make my own old fashioned cocktail! Impressed and worth the price!

These taste great. In comparison to the king of cocktail cherries Luxardo, these are quite comparable. There is a taste difference but I wouldn't say it is not significant. These tend to be a bit larger in size to the luxardo brand and also sweeter. The syrup is also a light colour. Price wise I think these are slightly cheaper than the other brand but not by too much. Regardless these will be better than the neon red cherries that tend to be more prevalent due to the low cost.
