TC Electronic BC208 200W Passive Bass Cabinet with Dual 8" Speakers, 8 Ohm, Compact Stackable Design for Bass Amplifiers

Real value for money 2x8 cabinet. On its own sounds great and, surprisingly, much better than the price suggests. I only use mine (paired with trace Elliot elf and 1x10) for home practice but I would say big enough for a small venue gig!

Amazing!! Fantastic sound don’t be fooled by the 8 inch speakers and what you read that they can’t produce a low bass. This is incredibly clean and articulate at lower frequencies way better than my 10 inch rumble speaker. Can’t recommend enough.

Pros - very easy to lug about. Fits in the boot easily. Indent for little Bam200 amp helps keep it secure. Value for money (cheap). Well made. Cons - lacking bottom end. Low mid boom when pushed. Okay for very small gigs. When paired with the Bam200, the speaker sucks all of the power out of the amp. It says 8ohm, but I had to max the amp to keep up with drums. It also seemed to compress the signal when driven hard which reduced dynamics annoyingly. More of a crit of the amp though. Used with a 400 watt non-digital amp it didn’t have any problem, but still lacked the lows from the 10” cab I regularly use. Weirdly, it sounded better with upright than BG so I’ll use it for that.

2x8 might sound puny but it’s really not. My Jazz through the TC 250 amp sounds so good, the other guys in the band keep going on about it. A revelation.

Ich habe mir das Teil und den dazu passenden kleinen TC Amp für den Proberaum einer Band gekauft, wo ich aushelfe, weil ich meinen full stag nicht immer hin und her schleppen wollte. In Sachen Lautstärke, Praktikabilität und Preis gibt es hier wenig zu bemängeln. Der Klang aber ist nicht zufriedenstellend. Ehrlicherweise kann man das auch nicht erwarten. Wie schon in anderen Bewertungen erwähnt, ist die Oberflächenbeschichtung sehr schlecht. Es schein eine Art dünne Zuckerglasur zu sein, die bei geringster Beanspruchung abblättert. Keine Ahnung, wer das für eine gutd Idee hielt. Ich denke, die Box hat ihre Daseinsberechtigung als Box für einen Übungsverstärker eines Anfängers, der in Vaterns Garage die ersten Gehversuche am Bass macht. Ich behalte die Box dennoch z.B. für Gigs, in die ich keine große Mühe hineinstecken will. ;)

Il suono è nitido e molto presente, bassi non profondissimi (è un 2x8, dai) ma buoni e, anche come costruzione, presenta molto bene. Il volume è sufficiente per locali medi, non dimentichiamo che è 8 ohm quindi, per dire, una testata come la BQ250, che sviluppa 250 MASSIMI a 4ohm, alla fin fine tirerà fuori una 60ina di watt RMS a 8 ohm. Ma è abbastanza efficiente e accoppiandola in parallelo a una cassa di stessa impedenza (possibilità prevista e consigliata), si raggiungono i 4ohm e si può sfruttare la potenza massima dell’ampli. È molto leggera, si può viaggiare tranquillamente con basso e testata nella custodia a tracolla, effetti in una borsa e cassa in mano..
