Great cheap light for low light plants
I’ve used these kinds of lights before, so they were the first I thought of when I needed a new light for my planted ten gallon.I’ve had the 16 or so inch light for about 10 months now, and it’s grown amazon swords, dwarf sag, and red tiger lotus all just fine. I definitely won’t call it suitable for high light plant needs, however. Red plants are not going to get their full lovely color under this light. With liquid CO2 supplement, however, my sword has gone from nearly dead to enormous and I’m working on a dense jungle carpet from only a few sprigs of dwarf sag. I’ve had anubias do very well under this light in the past too.If you’re interested in growing low to medium light plants in your small tank and don’t have 75 bucks to dish out on a super nice plant light, this guy is a great, cheap place to get you started. If you’re a beginner, just remember that algae from good lighting is to be expected and don’t leave the light on too many hours a day, and stay on top of water changes.Edit: added photos about 5 months apart. You’re not going to have super fast huge growth but you will get nice growth that’s steady and doesn’t need a ton of trims. I don’t recommend stem plants for this light however.

I can’t get enough of these.
I keep ordering more. They are perfect for me. I have 31 tanks and expanding. I’m putting these in all of my new tanks. I have them in a dozen 10 gallon tanks, a couple of 20 gallon longs, and six 40 gallon breeder tanks. I even put four of them in my 55 long. In the 75 gallon long it wasn’t good at all.Illuminating one side of the 10 gallons makes a cool looking shading. Its not directly over the tank so the light hits everything at an angle. Cool shadows, I think anyway. It’s plenty bright enough for that size tank. Even plants will grow that close to the light. They are not bright lights, but they are sufficient enough to Illuminate the tank. Anything larger than 20 gallons I put more than one in. I put them on all edges of the tank. Lighting the front, back, and sides. On my 55 gallon long I used two on the back, two on the front, and one on each side. I think it’s so cool to see it all evenly lit with nothing hanging above the tank. I slid them all the way to the top so that you can’t see where the light is coming from. It’s really nice to see the tank fully illuminated that way. It’s a soft, light, with a calming brightness, like you might expect at a display case in a fish showcase. It’s not daylight bright, it’s more like a sunrise at dawn, right before shadows are beings cast.I’ve bought a lot of them, and with all of these purchases, I’ve had no failures. The suction cups are strong. I have no problems with them staying in place.

Affordable and functional
My tank is 55 gallons and the original lights burned out so purchased this because all other replacements were expensive. So far this has been good. The suction has to be wet for it to stay in place. It’s not as bright as my other ones that were in the tank hoods but this will do for now. This is the 18.5” and I will probably buy another to put on both sides of tank. Only had in tank for a day so water resistance is still pending.

Good product, great service.
Great product, very bright, adds color to my mollies, guppies, and betta. No problems with it being submerged. The on/off switch is in a good location and works well. The suction cups seem strong and durable. The transformer power adapter stopped working after 60 days, but Mingdak promptly replaced it when I contacted them. Great customer service.

3 Bulbs not working. Replacement works great.
I just got my light today, was shipped very quick, but 3 of the bulbs don't work right out of the box. It looks like a decent light other then needing to send it back. I got my replacement very quick, awesome light for the price. I would have to say the way both lights shipped with no packing in the big box didn't help. Would be better off just shipping the box they're packed in instead of the way in my picture..

Fair but doesn’t always stick in the water
I have a 20 gallon tank. It’s kind of awkwardly placed because of my lid. I can’t place it on the shorter side because the light only goes so far and I can’t place it under the filter because of the filter, so it’s on the opposite side away from everything. However the cord is just hanging out in the water so I’m not sure what to do with that. The snail goes on it at times, and I don’t know if it’s because of the snail, but it doesn’t stick to the side of the tank even if the suctions are completely submerged in the water. I’m too lazy to buy yet another light so I’ll stick with this one for now but it’s definitely not worth 5 stars

Love the light
Love the light. Just wish it had different settings.I knew this before I bought it.; so, it doesn't make it a problem. It would just make this light that much more awesome! It is extremely bright. Use this for high light loving plants. I love that I can rotate the light to shine where I want it (up/down). Very easy to install. Suction cups work well. Nothing bad to say about this light. It's all good.

Really great product
Really nice products. Totally waterproof as promised and decently bright. Gave brightness 4 stars because it wasn't as bright as others but this one doesn't scare the heck out of my fish when it turns on so I guess the fish disagree with me. Had some issues getting the suction cups to stick but they do float and I eventually got them to stick after several tries. Would purchase again.
