I like the filters and their multiple screen Options And have purchased several for around the garden and house, But several of these after they've been out in the weather a while charged waiting for the timer to go off have broken right at the bottom of threads above where the O-ring washer goes. we are very careful only tightened enough so they do not leak. I wish there was an option to replace The housing with Metal or something more heavy duty that would not fatigue so rapidly And give out! Or at least an option to buy replacement housings that hold the filter...

I gave this product 4 stars because it did work well. We have a well and do get insolubles coming through that plug up some of our sprinklers. The main issue we found is that the plastic filter cup is fragile if there's any kind of freeze. This year, both of ours broke after the first frost. The water in the bowls weren't frozen completely but there was enough pressure to break the rims. Ran into this earlier so our fault but it wasn't a hard freeze so we didn't think about removing them. Otherwise, they work well.

This sediment filter was exactly what I needed. Recently replaced well pump and situated it further down in the aquifer. This has caused continuous sediment contamination which has been clogging everything (clothes washer, sprinklers, faucets..). I installed a proper filter for the mainline to house, but garden spigots and animal troughs are on a separate line. I put these on the garden spigots because the sprinklers were getting clogged up within minutes. They work great. They don’t catch everything, even with the 40 mesh, but they get all the larger grit that is what’s clogging the sprinklers. They seem quality enough, and the only leak issue I had was remedied with a quick rinse off of the rubber gasket to the sump. Haven’t had to use any plumbers tape, but I’m also using these outside, so the leak issue wouldn’t really matter. I would definitely use the tape if I was installing these inside like on the washing machine… just as a precaution. Overall I’m satisfied with this purchase.

Bought this filter in Sep 2025. It worked well for 2025 season. In July 2026 when I took apart the unt to clean filter, on reassembly it leaked badly. There was no visible cracks. I conclude the gasket is bad. I managed to use teflon tape around black threads to stop leak. I can't recommend its purchase.

UPDATE: I was contacted by customer support for a replacement so I'm a happy customer. I highly recommend this filter, and I strongly advise that you move it into your garage or another heated location before Winter begins if you live in a colder climate. This should help to avoid the plastic housing container from cracking as you can see from my photos. I'll update this review after another season to verify whether or not this method worked. I really love this filter. However the plastic housing broke after the first season during the beginning of Winter. I don't see an easy way to re-order just the plastic container so I'm not sure what to do as it's useless at this point. If it was replaceable, I'd give it 5 stars.

The nipples were not inserted to the correct torque per specification. This is what causes the leaks on this item. Bolt that I ordered had this issue I had to find a rather large hex Alan to tighten these to the proper specification. Other than that, these are decent quality control is not very good on assembled parts.

I use this for tankless water heater flushing. Works great! FWIW, I have also switched to stainless steel washing machine hoses to eliminate the rust from the vinegar.

The filter works well for the laundry tank water supply, however, the outlet thread pitch is not properly machined to connect to Australian tap fittings. Fortunately the brass outlet fitting can be unscrewed and easily replaced with a fitting that matches Australian domestic laundry water fittings; note that a thicker 'O' ring is required to ensure the replacement fitting doesn't leak. A good selection of filter meshes is supplied with the filter housing.

This unit whilst is well made, does not have standard thread brass fittings (nor size) to work on our taps. my pressure washer uses standard garden tap fitting hose thread. unit doesn't fit on anything we have. Tried to find an adapter to be able to use this unit, however the adapters we did find cost more than the unit. disapointed.
