Such a fun camera to mess around with. It doesn’t come with an SD card so get one. The night mode low-key surprised me. It also takes pictures so it’s fully equipped. Don’t expect mind blowing quality but it has its own vibe. If u just want a camera to record hangouts or wtv this one is great, i’m glad I did.

Love this camera, make sure you pick up a good memory card before buying. The night vision is good in indoor areas but the range isn't as far when outdoors. Pretty durable I did accidentally drop it, and it didn't get messed up or anything. Fits nice in the hand, easy placement of the button and the strap is adjustable. I haven't tried out the remote, but it's a handy function to have. I'm probably going to pick up a mic to put on the top, cus the audio isn't the best. But I kinda expected as much. Overall it's exactly what I wanted. Would probably be good if I ever got stranded in an asylum and needed to see in the dark (Outlast joke, sorry). Camera quality is good, better than I expected, but has that old gritty feel I wanted.

Decent value, but be aware this camera does not have the option for Clean HDMI. You do not have the option to turn off the OSD (On Screen Display) icons. The video and image quality for the money you cannot go wrong. Great as a glorified webcam and a mini camcorder. It's small form factor makes it easy for portability and mounting in an inconspicuous place. I was tempted to return this because of the lack of clean HDMI as my current video switcher only accepts HDMI sources. I planned to upgrade my switcher anyway where it can use a webcam as a source and this connection has a clean video output. However, when in UVC webcam mode you lose access to the advanced features like night mode, fast iso, etc. I guess I cannot expect much for the price, but the listing should disclose if the camera has the clean HDMI feature or not. Aside from it's limitations I'm sure I'll find a use for it for my YouTube channel.

Overall I Highly Recommend this camera over other video cameras at the same price point.... Main reason why: very reliable and well made. I purchased this videocamera more than 6 months ago and have used it daily for web page projects occasionally dropping it ...with no complaint, issues or breakdown.. I am impressed Just a note: It is important to review these following instructions before reviewing as not doing so would confuse and potentially result in a less than perfect review: Instructions: Resolves Bad Reviews: Here it is, this is most of peoples confusion...when you press Menu you have a Camera icon thru 1/4 Options and a Wrench Icon thru 1/4 Option... Most important make sure- Enable Motion Detection is (OFF) AND Movie Clip Time is (OFF)..Most people think there camera is a defective Camera if these are turned on..this option turns REC on when Motion is Detected and the other Option Records Short Clips ( 1min to 5 mins 10mins ) and it when loop them.. so it auto records then loops every min making your cam seem defective lol .... And keep Movie Resolution at 1080/30....do not go high.. then that at introduction time, of getting to know your New Camera... Also Video Playback is on 2/2 of Mode that may confuse some people... Note: Model LCAM-42 avail oct14, 2019 does not have a better menu as FW Verison: 1-1-2021 has a better menu LCD then the Previously models Something like this You will also have to press Menu and Go to the Wrench Icon 1/4 and go down to Date Format and change that to Month/Day/Year and Then exit and above that is Clock Setting --setup TIme... NF infrared Illumation occurs when your in Pitch BLack room , you cant see but the camera will, you have to press the Power Button on sidetop of camcorder to get to the B&W setting, theres two settings in the dark and 3 settings when there is Light... Remote - you want to swivel Flip the LCD screen around so that you can see it when u hit the REC button on the remote... u can Pause REC ect... Memory Card: supports upto 128GB and they recommend/requires class 10 or higher.. CameraBattery; last 1.5 at 1080/30 Charging takes 3hrs / Comes with 2 batterys PROS: Displays Remaining Recording Time, 2 batteries , NF infrared Illumation , Updated Menu, its I AGREE THAT PRICE is GREAT for the features, I highly Recommend this Camera.. Look at pictures for more reason why to get this camera...can take picture when recording videos by pressing the most top Button...There's a desired Time Lapse Feature... CONS: The the Camera needs to Power-up for 5 secs before you can get to the Menu Settings...Audio is not as good as with the external microphone. The brand that I use is: OSA wireless microphone as it is portable and a white noise minimize and is compatible with this camcorder. Video Playback is on the 2/2 of Mode...Comparing this with my Google Pixel 7 is not be as good in the Stabilization Recording but a mount can help with this .. Where to start. Well let me start by saying that rarely review. I am not super critical of products and generally expect to get what I pay for. In this case, it is completely not worth it (for me at least). I have been eyeing these cheap cameras for some time as I don't need them to be professional quality, as long as they work as advertised. This camera was like -45% off or so when I bought it which put it at around $50 USD. So, I finally bought it and had decent expectations. The package came quickly which was nice. Right from the start I thought the box looked dirty and banged up. I just figured it got messed up a little during shipping. No problem. Then I opened the package. It was packaged nicely, came with a little carrying case which isn't bad. It came in package that looked new but once I got the camera in my hands I could see that it had little scuff marks everywhere and seemed dirty as well. I was annoyed but didn't bother me too much. I figured if the camera even somewhat worked, it'll be ok. On to the camera. One thing that this camera does offer (which is what drew me to it) is the ability to adjust the ISO, white balance, etc. which my other name brand camcorders do not offer. Another reason that I wanted this camera is the IR function. I gave that portion of this review 2 stars because the IR function does work. Not very well but it does work. If you are within a few feet of the camera, the IR is reasonable but outside of a few feet, you might as well not have it. Anyway, immediately after turning the camera on I could tell the menus were extremely laggy, old feeling and just not smooth whatsoever. The zoom is terrible, it's all digital zoom so you actually aren't zooming in, just making the screen bigger and more pixelated. Additionally, when you are "zooming in" to something, it's so slow to respond that it doesn't zoom smoothly, it zooms in chunks like it can't process the video as it's zooming. When it comes to recording, that is another hit or miss. When it does record, the quality is ok if you don't zoom much or at all. I didn't really test the photo mode other than one photo. I took it from a tripod of a still object. Blurry as hell, and definitely not 30 mega pixels as advertised. This is what pushed me to write this review. I was willing to look over all of the BS with this camera but on four occasions, it started recording, I made sure it was recording for minutes before leaving the camera to record for an hour. On all occasions, the camera corrupted the recording which didn't allow me to even completely open the file. The camera would only give the option of deleting the clip. I have recorded a short clips (under a minute) and most of them recorded with even one of them giving me the same error! So to finish this. This camera was a complete waste of money even if it was only $50 USD. I don't know if I have ever returned anything to Amazon but this is for sure getting returned. Why would Amazon allow this type of crap to get sold!? I bought a cheap IR flashlight a month ago, again it completely did not work. Why are these products being sold Amazon!? Ridiculous if you ask me. If you guys do get it, I hope it works for you. It's so frustrating!

My granddaughter has taken up wanting to do more things film wise with cameras and filming things. She loves watching her brothers in their sports and will love to be able to film the teams in action. I know this is not things most 10 years olds love to do but love to be able to open possibilities to what might be a life long passion of photo/film as a hobby or job. She has already filmed a couple games and loves to show like us old timers use to do with home movies the videos she has taken. Does great videos super easy to use even for a 10 year old. I am glad I made this purchase!

Let's talk about the camera. One feature that caught my attention was the ability to adjust settings like ISO and white balance, which my other cameras don't offer. The IR works, but not well. It’s okay if you’re close, but beyond a few feet, it’s pretty much useless. Recording is hit or miss. When it works, the quality is fine as long as you don’t zoom in. I didn’t test the photo mode much. It's an alright decent camera for the price you get what you pay for. it's a lightweight camera and easy to use, comes with two batteries inside the pouch that is included and a charger.
