I got mine yesterday and was able to use it several times already..,peeling apples and potatoes. It is very sharp and makes peeling more fun and saves you more time. What I also like about this peeler is the little ear on the side. It is use to plucked those unwanted tiny holes in the potatoes. It is very easy to do, pressed it down and twist and it's out. It is quick and fun. Others have two ears on both sides but it is not as sharp so basically it is useless..,not this one. This fit perfectly and comfortably in my hand. If there is any peeler in the market today That I can recommend to all consumer today is definitely this one. One Thing that I am concern about is that I am not really so sure if this will not get rusty. I bought several products on amazon that says made in germany...,only it get rusty after a few months. I hope this one will not, only time will tell.

Exceptional German made Peeler. This thing goes through veggies like butter. Have tried it on everything, from potatoes, carrots and cabbage. Absolutely effortless pull every time. The solid stainless construction seems like it's going to last a long time.The only downside, if you could call it that, is this thing is RAZOR sharp. You're going to need to exercise a bit more caution when using it.

This thing is AWESOME! It makes peeling potatoes so easy and fast. We've been washing it in the dishwasher and it hasn't rusted at all. It's still very sharp. The design fits in you hand very well and it's a good handle material. It doesn't get slippery when wet you can still hold it well. I would definitely buy this as gifts for family.

My sister has one of these Lurch brand peelers and I used it one evening while prepping dinner. WOW. I mean seriously this peeler is amazing. Peels so effortlessly...like butter sliding off a hot knife. It's very comfortable to hold and won't slip. It removes a very thin layer of the peel and not your vegetable. Had to have one so I bought one. If you've ever peeled a sweet potato (for sweet potato fries) you know how tough the peels are. Not with this peeler!! Lightning fast, super sharp blade gets the job done. Freaking amazing. If you’re looking for a truly awesome kitchen tool this is it. I'll be buying another one plus the julienne peeler. Perfect as a stocking stuffer (so plan early before they sell out in December). Best $13.99 I’ve ever spent. The 3 useless peelers I had in my kitchen drawer are now trash.

I would give this 4.5 stars. I'm still getting used to the handle vs my old favorite which fit better in my palm and the gouging tool isn't as good as my vintage one which was more like a little curved blade vs a loop. It's larger than my old one which I don't love but this one is exceptionally sharp and I think once I've gotten used to it I will be very satisfied. I like the handle being sheathed for comfort which many were not. When I first tried it I thought I had inverted it, the stroke was so effortless- but then saw the paper-thin peeling. It peels much thinner and easier than my old trusty. In some ways I'm not sure that's great since some peels I feel need to go a little deeper due to thicker skin or things like eyes and such, but I think I'm still adjusting to it on that part after years of my previous peeler. It operates so smoothly it's easy enough to hit a spot 2 or 3 times as needed and in many cases the thinner peeling is nice as you aren't forsaking more than necessary. I bought it at almost double the expense of others I looked at based on reviews, and I too would also recommend this as being worth the extra investment.

This peeler is incredible, which seems like an outsized thing to say about a peeler but dang if this thing won’t improve your quality of life. I had no idea the mediocrity I was putting up with for DECADES by using whatever peeler I picked up at whatever discount store eons ago. The impetus for buying this was a butternut squash soup I like to make in the fall and winter. I always buy the pre-cubed squash because I never wanted to deal with peeling one, which I’ve tried to do at my own peril several times through the years. Lately though, I really don’t like the quality or price of the cubed butternut squash at my grocery store. So I decided it was time to grow up and peel one successfully all by my adult self. I searched for heavy duty peelers and found this one, and I must report that I now have actual regret over the years of my life that I spent with substandard, pieces-of-junk peelers. My eyes are now opened to just how badly I cheated myself with them. Using this one, I peeled two butternut squashes like they were butter. I mean, who knew the joy to be had from a better peeler. Plus the squash tasted so much better than the pre-cubed stuff. Why do kitchen upgrades never mention peelers? These are the kinds of questions I am legit asking. People talk about their pots and pans and appliances and knives but no one ever mentions a peeler and I think I must now embark on a mission to change that. Anyway, do yourself a favor, stop messing around with the trash peeler you currently have and get this one.
