Organic Chicory Root Raw C/S

I've only had this raw chicory for a week, but I've already had success with using it for: - an alternative to chicken . I boil a pot of the tea down to add to my seitan. No other flavorings are necessary other than salt. - an alternative to butter - I heated the roots in oil at low temperature after filtering out any powder, so I could filter it out of the oil - I make something like chicken broth by only adding salt

Love this product - I add a scoop to my coffee while brewing. Doesn’t affect the taste. Beneficial, in my opinion, especially if you have high blood pressure.

Good quality. Would like roots chopped up a bit more coarse though.

My husband used to collect chicory root in the wild. It was extremely hard to pull out of the ground, then it had to be thoroughly washed and dried and then cut into chips, a very tedious time consuming job. We were so happy to find it already chopped, cleaned and dried. Whenever I have a gluten attack or arthirits pain in my back or legs, I make a glass of chicory root tea and put lemon and ice in it and it takes away pain almost right away. I take it to the gym and to my job in a water bottle. It is supposed to cleanse the liver, add prebiotics and fiber, and provide energy. I even add the chicory tea without lemon to my morning coffee. I grind the root very fine and put it in capsuls for travel. Just offering idea! I can hardly keep this on hand because all my friends and family want some of it. Sometimes I mix chai tea with the chicory for a nice flavor. If you search this amazing root on the internet you will be so surprised by all the benefits! Just know that it needs to be raw and not roasted for most of the benefits.

I bought this because it's supposed to be a good source of prebiotics, which is food for the good bacteria in the intestines. I haven't seen any improvement in my health, but I wasn't expecting a miracle anyway. I believe this product had free shipping, however, when it arrived, I had to pay 39 cents postage. It was shipped in a priority envelope with flat rate shipping, Apparently the product was over the weight limit. I probably won't buy this product again.

I add this to my coffee for added flavor. Order on a regular basis would highly recommend.
