What is the difference between the family spray in a 4 oz bottle and the pet spray in the 16 oz bottle? Seems to be the same but one is more $$$.

Personal Insect Repellent, Flea & Tick Spray for Pets + Home and the Indoor Pest Control For Home + Kitchen are the exact same formulation, just labeled a bit differently to help customers find the best product to suit their needs (Pets+Home has more specific directions for pets owners, while Indoor is more generally labeled for home use). Each size bottle is a different price because it contains more product. A 4 oz is 12.99 and a 16 oz is 24.99, etc.

Can this be used on animals? It's hard to tell from the description

Yes, Natural Insect Repellent can be used on dogs and cats.

Yes, it does kill and repel ants.

I have had Gnats in my house for 5 years now and can't get rid of them. Can I spray this in the air also to be effective?

This will only kill the gnats if they are sprayed directly.
