Can you do knit and purl patterns on the same row using this machine?

No and Yes. It does not do it automatically. You must manually change (unknit and then relatch(purl)) each purl stitch in the design. Depending on the number you have to do can take more time than hand knitting.

It has a maximum of 150 stitches? Am I reading that correctly?

I believe so, yes. It’s a good sized machine so you’re looking at a width of at least a full sized blanket if that’s your goal.
