Loving this hairbrush, makes my hair super soft
I’ve always just had one brush to brush my hair, a simple Conair vent brush & at one point I bought a round brush only because that’s what the salon used to blow dry my hair with the few times I’ve been to a salon. Both brushes are from a drugstore. I’ve never really spent a lot of time with my hair. Most of the time I just brush it & go. On special occasions, I’ll sometimes use a straightener. For the most part, I just keep my hair simple. I’ve never really looked into hairbrushes at all until I researched how to cut my own hair on YouTube. Couple of the videos I watched needed a paddle brush as one of the tools needed to cut your own hair. So I researched paddle brushes & that’s when I realized there’s more to hairbrushes than just brushing out your hair. There’s certain types of brushes you need for certain types of hair & the certain hairstyle you want. I have long slightly wavy fine hair & this brush, the Denman D81L, definitely detangles my hair & makes it so soft. I never knew a brush could make my hair that soft. It does make it frizz a little but I have a leave-in conditioning cream that I use to smooth out the frizz. This is the most I’ve ever spent on a hairbrush but I’m definitely loving this brush. Only been using it for a few weeks now & I clean it out after every use. But I do need to research how to deep clean it. It is lightweight & seems sturdy so hopefully it’ll last a long time.

Best Brush Ever
Very easy to clean, detangles good, works well on 4-C hair, easy to use, comfortable hand grip.

Its a Yes for the Curly Girls Who Want Juicy Clumps and Definition
I am going to premise this review by giving a little background about my hair.I am a natural 3B ringlet curls girl with VERY soft, fine hair but I have A LOT of it. I have 95% 3B curls with some 3A looser curls around the nape of my neck and ears. My hair holds a curl very easily and I don't really have to do any major styling to achieve my ringlets. The one very random, major issue I have with my hair is unlike other ringlet curl girls, my hair does not clump together naturally at the top of my hair or have any sort of curl definition if I do not use a brush to style it. However, the length of my hair clumps all by itself. Wash Go's don't exist to me and I HATE the outcome. This is a more recent issue honestly and I am not sure if my curl pattern is changing or if its due to hard water damage. My hair is super healthy and I would say its a medium porosity level. It likes both protein and moisture and I really don't lack in either one. I never need more than a cream and a gel to style my hair and I always defuse it. I have used the 7 row and 10 row Denman in the past and while they did clump my hair, they did nothing for my root issue.I give you all this info so you have a basis of what my issues are and where my hair is at. Hopefully it will help you determine whether this brush is for you. My major goals with this brush: more clumping, less need for finger coiling looser areas, faster styling and to achieve more definition and clumping from the roots of my hair so it matches the lengths of my hair. This brush did just that! The other 2 Denman brushes I own are good but they didn't have tension I needed. I section off my hair and take about 2" diagonal sections pulling up and away from my face to create my clumps from root to tip. With this brush I am able to achieve that even clumping and curl pattern I am looking for. The tension on this brush is great and makes styling super easy and fast. I find the density and combination of different bristles grips the sections better. I style my hair soaking wet with my cream in it and re-wet to scrunch the gel in once I'm done brush styling. The result juicy, even, very defined curls.Who I think this brush is for:Soft, thicker hair textures ( Wouldn't recommend for coarser hair)Those who have trouble with clumpingGirls curl training for ringlet curlsGirls who style on VERY wet hairWho it's not for:Girls who are not focused on definitionGirls for Focused on Volume - with more definition comes less volumeCoarser hair types- the brush may not be strong enough or may even rip your hairCurly girls who have naturally well clumped hairWavy hair girls who don't need clumpingMy one biggest call out with this brush is that I think that it will be something I have to repurchase at least 1-2 times a year. My thick hair is already starting to widen the outer bristles of the brush from the tension my hair places on it. For the results I'm getting though I don't really care.I have also tried the "Spornette Large Cushion Boar and Nylon Bristle" here on amazon and can say it may work for less dense curly girls as well. It wasn't dense enough to create the tension my hair needed to clump and left a weird part it the back of my hair that looked like the red sea separating every time I used it. It was super light weight and a really great brush for those who do not style in diagonal sections though.Hope this helps!

I love this hairbrush
I love this hairbrush! I have long, fine, wavy/curly hair that I’m trying to keep as healthy as possible while I grow it out. Even though I get regular trims and use no heat styling on my hair, regular wear and tear takes it toll. I end up with oily roots and dry ends, which is why I bought this hairbrush. It helps to redistribute the natural oils from my roots to the ends of my hair which makes it feel and look smoother. I find this works best before bed: I use my regular paddle brush to remove any tangles from my hair, flip my hair over, then use this brush to smooth the underside of my hair. After that, I flip my hair back and use this brush to smooth the top of hair. It leaves my hair looking glossy and feels amazing! If I’m consistent with this (every night), I find that my hair stays in better shape much longer. It also works great for whenever I want my hair to look smoother. Be careful not to use this to de-tangle ends though! I think the nylon bristles are too flexible to help with that and it can actually break the hair. Overall, I think this is a fantastic investment. It’s not a Mason Pearson brush, but I think this is a great substitute and with regular cleanings, this will last a long time!

Good value
This brush is as good as ones at twice or 3 times the price. I’ve used a Denman paddle styling brush for years, and it holds up to heat really well.Lately my hair has become dry and much longer (no haircut in Calif quarantine), so I even had split ends for the first time. I ordered a pure boar bristle brush, but it was way too soft to go through my hair; it wasn’t reaching the scalp to distribute the oils. This one is almost too soft, but the plastic bristles mostly go through to the scalp, especially if I brush it in sections.I’ve seen complaints in the reviews that it hurts the scalp. I like the sensation of the sharp bristles, but I can see if someone has a tender head it might hurt. I consider it a stimulating massage. It has made my longer hair much softer and less flyaway. I’d compare this to the Kent or other more expensive English brushes. To clean, I first get most of the hair out with a comb, then I put it face down in warm water with ammonia, just up to the rubber pad. After a 10-15 min soak, just rinse off with warm water.
